Gearing up for a Summer Solstice in the Shasta this weekend, should be intensely magickal with all the Boletes poppin all over the forest. Gourmet meals every night around the camp fire, can't wait to get out into the sticks again and root around like a hog in the dirty duff after yummy mushrooms. Last weekend was phenomenal and it's only going to get better. I have more Spring Kings and Butter Boletes than I know what to do with, my fridge is stuffed ! Feed us a boletus. Boletivores unite !

This weekend is looking good for Spring/Summer Boletes. I have been like a Yo Yo from here and Mt Shasta every weekend. The good times for us Boletivors are here. The flesh is dense and ripe for the picking. Gourmet cooking out in the sticks is where it's at for me .

I hosted a foray for the Bay Area Mycological Society last weekend in the Shasta National Forest. The weather was perfect and the mushrooms were poppin all over the place from the melting snow line down 3000 ft. The group wasn't focused on gathering edibles, just anything fungal ! Shasta this weekend was awesome. I had an epic adventure for just a weekend. I went up with my buddy Todd and we stayed at a friends place up there. We took a really cool Superior Court Judge out on a mushroom foray , along with the family Lawyer. We partied with some of the locals including a Shasta Ranger who turned out to be a really good resource. We ate gourmet meals every night.
