So the medieval fair at Kungahälla is over and I'm sitting here with good, less good ands well as rainy memories...

To start with I met the wonderful oriental dancer Susanne Wrenne (not tribal!) and we were supposed to do something together. It eventually just ended up with some spontaneous dancing in the background to the concert of Saor Patrol (drums and bagpipes). The festival turned out to host several unexpected (female and male!) bellydancers (not appropriate dressed!) whom were already hooked up with several of the musicians : ( Therefore Susanne and I was kind of turned down...

I really liked the music though and I have never got so many wonderful comments! I felt like a princess when everyone looked at my costume and wanted to take pictures of me! Anyway I felt like I gave some candy for the eyes to the festival ; )

So this Saturday I'm heading for Kungahälla medieval fair where I'm supposed to dance and have fun! I'm even now not sure how it all is going to end up but I'm going to dance both to live music and to recorded perhaps and maybe dance together with a egyptian-style dancer (Susanne) who's holding courses at the festival. So it should be intresting ; )

I'm planning to wear big pantaloons and a ghawazeecoat together with all my tribal jewellry! Maybe I'll go for a hair garden aswell...

Back from Amsterdam!

Yesterday I came home from five wonderful days in Amsterdam. On friday night there was this incredible show at the theater in Schiedam where Rachel & Mardi and Silvia Salamanca totally blew me away! I sat on the first row so I had a great view over the moves, expressions and costumes! Rachel and Mardi did beautiful duos and solos which where all kind of vintage and balkan stylish - I love it!!!
Silvia did two beautiful and energic solos with some spanish fire! The Uzumé were cool!

My legs and belly are tired but very happy after two full days of dancing! I fell in love with the moorish-andalucian dance with scarves that Silvia taught and her flamenco fusion class were full of expression, hands and pride - great fun!

Mardi's first workshop was about slow and low down moves and that's just my kind of melody! She went through a lot of moves and stuff for a choreography and her music choices me liked, liked liked! I totally love her approach to tribal fusion bellydance!
Mardi's second workshop was about zils and we learned several great patterns which we used in a choreography, great fun and great technique! Before the workshop I felt like a zil-zero and now I feel quite comfortable with many different zil-patterns! Thank's Mardi!

Both Mardi and Silvia are extremely professional both as performers and as teachers in dance. I feel that I have learned more in these two days than I've learned during all my years of dancing! I'm so grateful and so happy that I went to Amsterdam and to Oriental Dream 2008 - I've grown a lot as a tribal fusion dancer : )

OK, my tribal fusion solo, at the international dance and culture gala in Eslöv, wasn't as good as I wanted... I managed to get a small blackout, but as I improvised instead nobody noticed ; )
It was very fun though, and I got very positive response from the audience!!

I'm very satisfied with my beautiful outfit : ) When I got on the stage the audience sounded like aauuuwh....

Finally Tribal bellydance has arrived in Malmö as Dud Muurmand started her 12 week course at Arnbergs this Thursday!
I have never before taken any course in ATS Tribal and this was just so much fun and exactly my kind of bellydance! I really looove it!!!

Dud is an amazing teacher and her music- and dancestyle is just great. Sometimes she blends in a little bit of tribal fusion too, so that's great. I'm looking forward to a spring full of new inspiration!!!
