A very precipilicious early winter

   Mon, December 24, 2007 - 4:34 PM
Yup...snow. There's certainly plenty this winter. I know the garden is hiding under this blanket of snow, just as fertile and sweet and ready for seed as she can be... patient...waiting...tomatoes all gone, the last of the pumpkin all ground up today, soups of frozen kale and squash...used up all the brussel sprouts yesterday...pulled out another jar of frozen salsa (oh yum)...only two left...but many orange pounds of carrots to go...should last all winter...black currant jam still on the shelf, and two jars remain of greenbeans from the earth 1200 miles from here (thanks ma)...Please April...be april this year.

We dried our organic pear again this year. They taste like tree candy! Gave some away as presents this year.
Lately I follow the birds south in the winter once most of garden pruning and mulching is done.
There are some amazing gardens in Maui that some folks do garden work trades at.
