Castro Street Fair

I had an excellent day! I served as an acolyte at early Mass, then volunteered for two groups at the Castro Street Fair. The first was the Most Holy Redeemer AIDS Support Group, collecting donations at the gate. The second was the 15 Association, working the margarita and vodka lemonade dispenser.
The day was sunny but there was a cold wind. That drove down attendance and beverage sales a bit so we worked a bit harder to get people to donate more money and buy beverages.

Looking back at Folsom Fair week

I had a great time during Folsom Fair week. I played only once, but that's okay because I did a lot of volunteer work. That's very satisfying to me. And I ran into a lot of friends and made some new ones, too.
The fair itself was wonderful. I worked as a volunteer for the AIDS Emergency Fund as a booth coordinator for four hours. No serious problems and the weather was so warm that I was able to strip down to my red jockstrap and black boots. Didn't burn at all, just got a tad browner.
Now it's on to the Castro Street Fair this Sunday!

2009 Tighty Whitey Car Wash

I had a fabulous time at this charity car wash. We raised a lot of money for a good cause and had enormous fun doing it, washing cars and fooling around spraying water with the guys. I'm so glad I now have the strength and energy to be of service in this way. It's very fulfilling for me to be of service again.

Tighty Whitey Car Wash

I've volunteered for a charity car wash this Sunday, featuring the men of the Bare Chest Calendar and other guys washing cars in their tighty whiteys. It's a benefit for the AIDS Emergency Fund and should be a lot of fun for a good cause. I'm praying for warm sunny weather.

Baker Beach

Went to Baker Beach, just south of the Golden Gate Bridge, today on an impromptu visit. It was warm and sunny enough to take off my shirt. I wish I had been prepared so I could have joined the nude sunbathers. I'll post a few photos tomorrow.
