one morning at 6:15am i had slept through my alarm and was about to sleep through a class i was supposed to be teaching, and tony called and woke me up. he said he knew i was going to over sleep. it's the only time he ever called me before 9am. "even a leaf offered in friendship..."

Striving to walk the path of the karma yogi, I am moved when I experience or view acts of kindness. And today, again - I was touched.
While returning from a training ride loop to San Rafael, CA., I made my usual "pit-stop" at Mike's Bikes of Sausalito. I visited their "WC." I purchased some CyloMax. I filled my water bottles. And then, I noticed something different - something new - something simply "FANTASTIC!" (And no, it wasn't a taxi). It was karma yoga in action.

After 10 yrs. of laughing at others yoga students; debating over the pros and cons of Iyengar, Bikram, Rodney Yee, and Pattabhi Jois; parading into various yoga studios; critiquing the knowledge of yoga teachers; and gloating at my glorious posture in the mirror; I committed myself to the 2yr Advanced Teacher Training Program of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco.
Well, a small part of my commitment was attending (for the next two years) a yoga class which would focus on "my postu...

Who would have ever thought that an adventure that started off as merely "something to tell the grand children" would bring me onto such a positive & life changing path?

about me
In 1994, I needed "something to tell the grandchildren." So, I signed up to do a bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. And although many a people laughed, I completed the 7 day, 585 mile, journey. And since then, in support of the fight against the AIDS pandemic, I have completed a total of 10 cycling journeys from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

In 1996, I had an idea of cycling the "South of France." And although many a people laughed, I completed a solo bicycle tour in France. This tour covered Troyes, Chanttillon, Dijon, Dole, Besancon, Nimes, Montpellier, Beziers, Carcassonne, Toulouse, Montauban, Cahor, Brive, and Limoges, France.
In the year 2000, I enrolled in a 2yr. Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco. And although many a people laughed, I completed the two years of training. And since then, I have put down the Chardonnay and become a seasoned student of Yoga and an Iyengar Yoga teacher.

And now, I have chosen to reach out to Oprah Winfrey. So, I created "An invitation to Oprah Winfrey and Harpo Productions." And although many a people laugh, I continue with my journey.

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. You can quote them. Disagree with them. Glorify or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."
Wishing the best of all possible worlds,
tony
