Raw Food Diet

A raw food diet is not just good for you - it’s also good science! You don’t have to take our word for it, have ‘faith’ or trust the latest nutrition guru.

Well on 25 April 2008, individuals took a stand & began to bring together people from around the world in a "Movement to Reverse Diabetes Naturally" through the spreading of educational resources on nutrition such as the film “Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days” and “The Ultimate Encyclopedia of the Raw Food Lifestyle”

World AIDS Day - 01 December 2008

"In 1984, at the age of 22, I moved to San Francisco. During this time period, I could often be found in "The Trocadero," "The End Up," "Buzzby's," "DV8," and various other night clubs. San Francisco's night club scene was "off the hook." Everyone was having a good time. Yet, as the years past, I noticed that my Disco friends were slowly missing. And when I asked others about them, ... the common response was ..."they're dead." And now, at the age of 46, most of my friends are no longer here. Most have died of HIV/AIDS, or complications of the AIDS pandemic."
So, I had the choice of either
1.) To sit and watch
2.) Do something about it

Suzanne stated "It doesn't matter whether or not I meet Oprah Winfrey because I have already met her in our common work, that of living our best lives and fighting for change in particular for the lives of African Girls- my love for her is not dependent on her schedule. Yet of course, I would love to meet her even briefly just to say thanks."

Attention All Yoga Teachers - Yoga Studios - Business Owners

I believe Yoga should be accessible to every individual.

Therefore, for seven years, I have taught donation based yoga classes (students pay what they can afford).
ynottony.com/donation.php

And over the years, I have offered free yoga classes at San Francisco's Dolores Park, Ocean Beach and Free Yoga Classes at City Hall.
aidslifecycle.typepad.com/alc5t...s.html

And presently, I am the founder & organizer of Sports Basement's Free Yoga Program.
ynottony.com/sports%20basement.htm

Presently, I am searching for other venues in the San Francisco Bay Area where I can create a similar free yoga program - making yoga accessible for every individual.

Therefore, if you are a yoga teacher (or a soon to graduate yoga teacher) looking to share your knowledge, practice karma yoga (community service), and put yourself in the public eye, join in & volunteer your services making yoga affordable for every individual.

And if you are a business owner, yoga studio, community center organizer, youth activities advocate, and/or know of a location or organization that would like to become part of this successful growing trend - email me and let's chat ....
Email = ynottony.com/contact.php

Together, through the practice of Yoga, we can better ourselves & our community.

Each yoga class is an exploration of where we are at the particular moment - both physically & mentally. And she encourages sthudents to feel deeply in each yoga pose in order to understand their own unique alignment and potential. And although yoga is a serious medicine for general well-being, she suggest that it we don't limit our ability to laugh and let go.

"Make yoga a dance of life - know when to stop, when to go, and when to let go.

She encourages students to:

Be their own creators.
To determine their own stories.
To dance their own dance.
And to find happiness in their life & happiness in the live's of others.

27 July 2008 - Raja Yoga Teacher - Janardhan Chodagam

Raja Yoga meditation is an open-eyed technique that can be used by anyone, anywhere. Whether you want to learn how to relax, need to be more concentrated and creative or are searching for personal enlightenment, this course can satisfy each of those needs.

Meditation enables you to create new attitudes and responses to life, giving you a clear spiritual understanding of yourself. Like any skill, meditation requires practice to achieve positive and satisfying results. By doing a little every day, it soon becomes a natural and easy habit, which generously rewards you for the little effort it involves.

We will look at:

* Re-discover enjoying and using the positive qualities already latent within you
* Understand your mind and what makes you tick
* Draw peace, strength and tranquillity from a higher source
* Practical guidance in the technique of meditation

Each session will include:
* Know-how
* Philosophy behind meditation and the skill of meditation
* Guided meditation commentaries led by the meditation teacher
* Most importantly a chance to explore what does and doesn't work for you

08 June 2008 - Kundalini Yoga Teacher - Shivie Cook

The first time Shivie practiced Kundalini Yoga she knew this was her primary practice. At the time she was a stressed out, overweight, constantly sick corporate lawyer. Kundalini Yoga gave her a chance to literally breathe and find something deeper within her Being. Three months after ther first practice she left her six figure job and started her Teacher Training. 100 hour work weeks were replaced with a practice of mindfulness, asana and meditation. That was over six years ago.

Today, Shivie is still practicing and enjoying bringing the practice to others, especially those stressed out in the jobs / relationships / life in general! She brings understanding, compassion and most importantly humor to her class - always reminding her students that it is ok to laugh whilst doing yoga. She aims to entice students to take their practice off the mat and into their walking life.

Join Shivie for and invigorating yet relaxing class. Prananyama, asana, meditation and savasana will leave you feeling full of possiblity and ready to face your Infinity. Bought to the West by Yogi Bhajan in 1969, Kundalini is a dynamic practice that is accessible to all, regardless of experience. You will feel the difference after your first session. Strengthen your immune system, cardiovascular capacity, intuition, nervous system and increase flexiblity with Kundalini Yoga.

15 June 2008 - Hatha Flow Yoga Teacher- Paul Tucci

In 1996, I attended my first class at World's Gym - San Diego. The Yoga teacher asked "why are you taking this class?:" I answered, "to learn something new about my body". Through experiencing the Iyengar style of Yoga with Tony Eason, I noticed that my sacrum & lumbar spine started to loosen. I discovered the power of the deep breath, and the mindfulness of the practice.

Les Leventhal inspired me with his insightful and challenging classes. Darren Main & Christopher Love 's Hawaii yoga retreat was a celebration of the deepening of my yoga practice and my life.

And after a misguided venture into Real Estate, Joy Ravelli suggested that I become a yoga instructor. That suggestion sent me to many work-shops and eventually to Seattle where i took my teacher training with Anna Forrest.

And, after 11 years, that innocent answer is still the root of what yoga still is for me . Yoga is an exploration of the muscles, the bones, the tendons, the breath, and a break from the churning mind.

Love & peace, Paul.

22 June 2008 - Astanga / Vinyasa Teacher - Anita Lalwani

Anita Lalwani teaches an Ashtanga Vinyasa inspired flowing form of yoga with an emphasis on breathwork and core strengthening that will electrify you from your fingers to your toes. She has been practicing yoga since 1985, and teaching since 2005. Anita is also a professional dancer with FatChanceBellyDance and a personal fitness trainer at the San Francisco Bay Club.

Mike's Bikes - Karma Yoga in Action

Striving to walk the path of the karma yogi, I am moved when I experience or view acts of kindness. And today, again - I was touched.

While returning from a training ride loop to San Rafael, CA., I made my usual "pit-stop" at Mike's Bikes of Sausalito. I visited their "WC." I purchased some CyloMax. I filled my water bottles. And then, I noticed something different - something new - something simply "FANTASTIC!" (And no, it wasn't a taxi). It was karma yoga in action.

mikesbikes.com/page.cfm

"Bring your donation bike (in reasonable working condition) to any Mike’s Bikes store.

Make a $15 donation to cover our discounted shipping rate to get the donation bike over to Africa (optional).

Leave your contact information with Mike's Bikes for updates on your bike’s journey.

Mike's Bikes will disassemble and pack your bike into a shipping container, which will sail for Botswana in late April.

Mike's Bikes will travel to Botswana to unpack the container and assist with building the bikes and distributing them to their sister shop partner.

This upstart bike shop in Botswana will sell the bikes at a reasonable price to local residents, and generate operating capital allowing it, in turn, to import more bikes.

By establishing a steady supply chain of bikes—and a reputable dealer to sell, service, and repair them—you will have been instrumental in developing a sustainable source of bicycles for a community that has never had them. It will make a huge difference in the lives of people for decades to come." - Mike's Bikes

And another wonderful Aidslifecycle training ride it was .. ..

So remember, it doesn't matter what you've been through .. . .
It doesn't matter what your sexual orientation, financial status, age, weight, creed, or location is ..
It only matters what you do .. .

If you want to create change (perhaps a better world) - you must begin with yourself . .
Wishing the best of all possible worlds,
tony
