A weary mind and body help as rehearsal for me consisted of flying to San Francisco the day before our journey overseas to learn 3 new choreographies…1 night…luckily Kami is a good teacher.
The LAX international terminal feels like a family reunion as we flit about hugging and kissing each other hello, while probably very annoyingly dragging our collective 44 pieces of luggage...

There’s a sadness and a “thank god it’s over” feeling to the end of each tour. Packing up the strange jokes and stories we’ve used to entertain and console each other with our costumes and clothes to be folded away until the next chapter of stories and experiences can be dusted off and mingled with the ever growing epic story (memoir) of a life of a Bellydance Superstar, with the feeling of, “here this lives…until next tour.”

2. What did you do before becoming a bellydancer and what drew you to this art form?

What advice would you give dancers who want to become professional belly dancers?
Bellydance is a unique profession even within the dance world. Because it’s group productions are not as ubiquitous as say ballet or jazz companies, a professional belly dancer’s time is spent less auditioning as might be the case in other dance forms and more building her career herself from the ground up. While there aren’t as many professional bellydance companies to join there are many professional danc...

Bellydance is one of the oldest dance traditions with roots harkening back to ancient India some 3,000 years ago. It arrived and spread around the Mediterranean flourishing in the Middle East and North Africa some 2,000 years ago. Bellydance ventured across the Atlantic in the 1800s to find a home in America where there are now more U.S. belly dancers than the rest of the world combined.
Rather than a high court dance...

I dont think I have ever came away from a class so motivated to work even harder on my posture and technique. Dont miss the chance to learn from this amazing woman! Luvs me some Moria!!

Moria is the most amazing dancer. I've been belly dancing for 8 years and her choreography was the most challenging I've ever learned. She makes it look beautiful and effortless, when it's phenomenally advanced and intricate. Not to mention she's a kind and beautiful person, through and through!
