Running

Running along the street that day,
I heard a voice from inside that seemed to say,
Stop running, just for a moment, or maybe longer,
Stop Running, and for a moment just ponder.

Perhaps for a moment, if only to linger,
Though it takes but a moment,
We run all day, but never stop to think,
But to where do we get at the end of the week?

Though the moment might seem like quite some time,
The week is gone after merely a blink,
Hurrying after those things we seek,
When we stop for a moment, do we know where we’ve been?

Surely running does help a bit,
To both pass the time and forget its toll,
But what does it mean this thing called time,
And how can it be, that we’re convinced it’s not there?

So take a moment to stop and think, where are we running?
And how long is the race, what is the prize,
And what may we lose, is it worth the price,
And can we stop to think?

Surely we can stop, as I just have, or can we not,
And have I been bad, or should we stop; though it may be hard,
And reconsider our directions and routes? It’s hard and truly so, Especially to reconsider a race we’ve been running for so long.

When did it start?
And does it really make sense,
The answers are there,
But the question is where?

Movin on

What a gift we have
One day, like a sleeve,
We wear our thoughts,
And though they feel like they won’t leave.

We move on, find and create
New feelings, and needs.

Though we hold our feelings so tightly,
Sometimes, we must let go,
Slowly, and ever so slightly.
To move on, let things again grow.
Not to destroy, but just to build,
Not to forget, but just to learn,
To hold again, so dearly, so closely
Someone even stronger, even more caring.
This time for you, this time about you.
Enough looking to please some one else.
Wanting more, to completely complete,
Not just part of the image,
But the full picture, receiving the gift you know,
God has put on this world, just in your name.
The other half, to fully understand, fate.
From the time, before all times now known,
From a place, from a mind, which she too knows.
To a connection, a love, to a soul.
Finally coming together, to understand,
That this end, will be the beginning,
Finally, of the song, which will be, truly, out of this world.

Rain, pain, speeding train
Intense, like lifting a fence.
Training, jumping, pumping,
Escaping, to never return.
To an infinite place,
Breaking free, like lifting a tree,
Running forward, without looking behind,
Not afraid, like a clock, pushing ahead,
Like a sub, rising out of the water,
That first glimpse of sun,
Like a butterfly, light
Right out of his coccoon.

My first poem

Would it work, would it be right, is it really worth the fight?
Emotions gone crazy, goin’ through this endless maze,
Is it worth the price, all the sleepless nights?
Ya can’t help but wonder, is it worth it to feel the thunder?
Could you just imagine, would it be too hard, just to search my heart?
Don’t know what to say, don’t know what to do, would it be too hard just to give a hoot,
So I spoke too much, but do I live too little, is it worth the cost just to feel so brittle?
Searching for the light, we must put up quite a fight,
And yet be sure not to lose sight, on that on which we’ve spent all our might.
It’s the need for speed, the quest to be the best,
We’ll be put to the test, but will we acquire the finest,
Another persons life, to help us through our strife,
Someone to call in the morning, but will we receive fair warning,
When she gets too tired, but we think we’re wired,
Will we be ready to be fired, will we be ready to be retired?

It’s the touch that turns to gold, the words that warm the cold,
It’s the support right on time, which provides for this endless rhyme,
It’s the want to be wanted, and the need to be needed,
It’s the constant hugging, which keeps one plugging,
In the effort to keep, that which you’ve always seeked,
It’s a crime not to be on time, when it seems fate to be late,
You’ll be forgiven for missin’, she didn’t get the call and missed the ball,
It wasn’t your fault but you broke her heart,
Through and through, you’ll be together forever,
Forget the fights and remember the nights,
Its not worth the loss, you’ll pay the cost,
Just be kind and never mind,
Come clean, don’t let your differences come between
Your best friend will always mend,
All that you never could have imagined, could ever cause this

The queen angel

The Queen Angel

Lying down, but so awake,
So late, but not wanting to sleep,
Reverberations of the mind, by way of the heart,
From the fingers, to the body complete.

Eyes so open, the connection, so tight,
So close, but watching, from so far away,
Feel the heart, the beat,
Thump Thump, Thump Thump.

Time stands still, all else, flying so fast,
One second - a minute, but two hours – not enough,
Rapturing, capturing, encompassing with such might,
To a place so high, thoughts so right.

The moments pass, though staying where they were,
Reflecting, on the reflections, of the waves, of the eyes,
The energies, and the soul, all brought together,
If only forever, could last, just a little bit longer.

My favorite poem

Crazy, my mind pounding, like feet, running on the floor,
Fast, my thoughts moving, like feet, scurrying to the door,
Wondrous, how ones mind, like feet, can move so quickly,
Frightening, how we wander, like feet, never ceasing.

Inspiring, to look ahead, like a mind, consider our goals,
Scary, to look inside, like a mind, what we may find,
Refreshing, in a shower, like a mind, thoughts pouring about,
Potential, never ending, like a mind, never ceasing.

Love, so abounding, like a heart, forever fulfilling,
Feeling, so overcoming, like a heart, controlling our being,
Emotions, ever changing, like a heart, shaping our breathing,
Joy, so amazing, like a heart, never ceasing.

Tears, true feeling, like a soul, so pure,
Expression, so hard, like a soul, so clean,
Laughter, like rapture, like a soul, so high,
Hope, so essential, like soul, never ceasing.
