about me
I have been dancing since early childhood studying ballet, jazz, tap, flamenco, Polynesian and modern dance. I started teaching at 16, so it's been over 30 years now. Since moving to Benicia from San Diego, in 1996, learning the art of belly dance has been my main focus. A high point was in 2001 when I won the title of "Grand Dancer of the Year". I have tried to develop a unique blend of all the influences I have encountered and am teaching that technique in classes at Sirens In Sanity Dance Studio. It is interesting how the different dance styles blend together. I am constantly amazed at the universality of the art of dance.

Directing and Choreographing for Sirens In Sanity has always been such a rewarding experience and I am so proud to present the ladies. They are professionals in every sense of the word; they work hard, support each other and give their precious time for the love of the art! What more could a teacher ask for? This is my passion...

What are we going to do to spice up the belly dance world? (blog entry) I get so tired of the lack of participation at recent belly dance events. Is it because people are tired of the same old thing? Are people too busy to add anything to their schedules? Is it a money problem? Maybe a political problem? What do ... read more

My Testimonials

If it wasn't for Saiedeh I would have probably given up on belly dancing. Her out of the box approach for the true love of dance has so inspired me. Not only is she an amazing dancer and choreographer, but she is truly passionate about dancing and it pours all over her students. Her words are always inspirational and uplifting. Who needs counseling with Saiedeh as a teacher..hee hee. She is our teacher, leader and mentor. All of her students love and appreciate the wonder and talent she brings to this beautiful art form.

xxoo Salima..

I LOVE SAIEDEH!

Whatever she is doing, Saiedeh is one of the most passionate people one will ever meet. Her strength resonates when she dances...when she teaches...when she is just being her! She "raised" me as a belly dancer and encouraged me to be the dancer I am. As a teacher, she will tell it like it is and I am very grateful for the honesty that she shows her students. If anyone has a chance to watch her or take classes from her, you will be inspired!

Thank you Saiedeh, for everything!!!
