If it weren't for my horse...

I like Saidi but it doesn't like me...

Well this weekend I had my first class in Saidi style. It was fun - energetic and upbeat. It was also completely new for me. After the 2 hour class I felt pretty good about what I learned. The next morning I woke up with an incredible lower back ache. My shoulders were also very sore. I thought that it must be normal - kinda like when you workout musles you haven't used for a lil while and they ache for a day or two. But it was much more than that. The pain did not go away and only got worse. It hurt to stand, it hurt to sit. I went to the doctor and basically I way over did it. He prescribed me muscle relaxers and has me on Ibuprofen and Tylenol. I'm off work for a few days. Boy, what a mess.

This weekend I have another class but I'm thinking I should take it easy and make sure I am fully recouperated before I go back. I'm bummed! I have been dancing for years and don't know what it was about this particular style or class that made my back hurt so much. We stretched before and after. Hmmm.

Picture is of Sahra Saeeda taken by Imad Alam. (she makes it look so easy)
