about me
As I said, I'm a loner,..except when I'm not. If I'm involved and challenged in a project, don't expect to hear from me for a day or two,.. or ten. The synapses are firing broadsides, and I have learned to seize the inspiration and just frigg'in go for it. What's sooo cool about my job, is I set my own challenges, then tackle them. It's wild!
But then there are my friends. I have pretty good character judgement, and being born on the first of April, I don't suffer fools. SO I have the weirdest, wackiest, ecclectic conglomeration of friends ya ever saw. I hang with hippies and cops, liberals and admirals, suits and shirts, seniors and juniors, straights and gays, you name it. It just takes listenning, to find a common thread.
To you all out there- thanks for putting up with me so far.
Re: Old Fort MacArthur Days
(in Hey! It's the RPFS Tribe!!)
I have no idea what Deena freakin meant, but y'all have fun at Ft Mac. As the founder of the renaissance groups there(you're welcome), this is the first year the Lane Victory sailings coincide and I won't be there to play. But maybe we'll sail by ...

Be careful- there are TWO of us now.
(blog entry)
Two fathers. Two chaplains.
Yuup. TWO lutherans. I met Jake at the yule party. I'm not usually impressed by people. Those that do impress me I impress (or pressgang) as friends. Jake is one of those. Forgetting his German name, he is the new cha...

Who? The pilot of the B-29 Superfortress "Enola Gay", and the director of flight research for the bombing missions over both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The missions that ENDED World War Two. HE IS and WAS a war hero. To deny that is revisionist cr...

And like a geek, of course there's a 1/72 scale red "tripe" hanging from my ceiling. along with 100 other aircraft, but that's another story(what kinda air traffic control is this?). Thanks to all for their input. I got busy yesterday and contac...

Forgetting his German name, he is the new chaplain for the Sturm. I hope I can get him to attend a day at RPFS. I want to scare my friends in court AND the military. Not to pontificate(oh shit here he goes!), but I feel that the few failed attempts by others over the years to try this charact...

A bunch of dog lovers want to chop off 3 acres of Fort MacArthur for a dog park. HALT!!! I like dogs too, BUT. Fort Mac is directly responsible for a lot of my success in my chosen field-modelmaking. I started my research there into a lot of what I now produce, and I am directly responsible for bringing the renaissance military into their "Old Fort Mac Days" yearly time...

HE IS and WAS a war hero. To deny that is revisionist crap, and I will spit in your eye if you call him otherwise. Wanna hear something so sad and disgusting it offends me(and should offend YOU) to my core? The man requested an unmarked grave and his burial site unregistered. He was afraid someone would ...

Thanks to all for their input. I got busy yesterday and contacted Smithsonian Air and Space-my personal mecca(among others like Aberdeen Proving Ground), and filled out a form, expecting to maybe hear from them in a month or so. Good thing I was up and conscious early(for me) at 0845!
A curator called from ai...

Anyone who thinks they know what is happening over there- you're wrong. It's worse. I highly recomend a book-Rajiv Chandrassekaran's
"IMPERIAL LIFE IN THE EMERALD CITY"- INSIDE IRAQ'S GREEN ZONE.
Let's forget the WMD issue for a moment. From the moment the country was seized, the plan went wrong. People with no experiance other than they were against Roe vs Wade, or voted Republican were assigned high positions. Those with actual experiance were left behind. This includes Paul Bremer, assh...

When ever I think of Andy there is only one real phrase that comes to mind.
“Hey, you sass that hoopy Andy? There's a frood who really knows where his towel is." (Sass: know, be aware of, meet, have sex with; hoopy: really together guy; frood: really amazingly together guy.)

What can you say about a "Dangerous Mind"? Andy is multi-talented and has an encyclopedic database of knowledge at his command, which he uses sometimes as a weapon, other times as an entertainment center. And you never know which one you're going to get! His modeling skills are enviable, and he takes great care in making certain his representations are historically accurate. He is a great conversationalist, and can discuss intelligently on any number of topics. He will also listen to opposing viewpoints and actually try to see things from that standpoint, and is willing to incorporate newfound truths into his philosophies.
Just don’t let him get you involved in any game of chance… Andy doesn’t take chances…

I love Andy, he gives me merlot and always runs screaming from me and that makes me giggle. Also, I can have conversations with the man and he actually recognized that I have a brain and know how to use it too! Did I mention that he is an incredible cook?? I miss California!!! ::sniff sniff::
Andy is; Awesome, intelligent, funny, sarcastic, witty, historically accurate, psychotic and fun. Everything a person needs in a friend.

"You sank my Battlemech!!!" That's what I yelled at Andy years ago shortly after we'd been introduced as we played Battletech on the floor of Pugsley's trailer. Right then and there I was intrioduced to the brillant tactical mind of Andy. We've been friends ever since. He has an understanding of Military history that one can only rival, and a collection of toys I wish I could call my own. Andy is a great person (though a bit evil) and I'm proud to call him friend. BTW Andy you still owe me an illustration of your brillant tactical victory. "You sank my battlemech!"
