"You are your own forerunner, and the towers you have builded are but the foundation of your giant-self. And that self too shall be a foundation" - From The Forerunner, Kahlil Gibran
4Runner - Toyota SUV. Not at all applicable. Foreigner - An enticingly close homonym if you say it fast enough. And it explains a lot. I've often felt like a foreigner -- like I just never quite fit in with any crowd. And then, sometimes, I find just the right people to hang around with. The people who live skirting the edge of our mainstream culture. Who want to grow and change. Who want to light fires in souls and shine light into people's lives. People who want to look into themselves and ask some of the tough questions and then move forward. Keep moving forward. Life has seen some serious changes in the last few years. Sometimes I feel like a foreigner in my own body. But the new land is rich and bountiful and holds great promise. The most important parts of my life have remained with me and are whole and well. And I'm only recently coming to realize and appreciate the truth in that. So, in the most important ways, little has changed. Except in how dramatically life has moved forward. And I'm looking over my shoulder less and less frequently these days.

Oh, don't get me wrong. For the most part I was truly tickled. I wouldn't get indignant at all.
I found myself feeling a little in limbo, a little misunderstood, if that makes sense. Sort of like I'd fallen through the cracks of conventional s... read more discussion post on Fri, November 6, 2009 - 1:28 PM

Need "Taken" sign on forehead?
(in Polyamory)
So last night, one of my associates in a volunteer group asked me if I'd be interested in a blind date with one of her friends -- "a nice girl, you'd be perfect for her". I'm very flattered but had to say a polite "no". Now, maybe, to some pe... read more discussion post on Thu, November 5, 2009 - 9:53 AM
