I read about this elsewhere. Ignorance is just another disease. Its painful and harmful and all we can do is fight it.

Gawd, this is awful. Its like the pimple of all america's cruelty, selfishness and violence since the Europeans invaded these shores with their slaves is finally popping spreading all the pus and ugliness for all to view.

The best is often bundled with the worst. America, often demonized for slavery, is the only country that went to war with itself to end it. And we are willing to tear ourselves apart for all sorts of progress. For every ill we suffer, people rise up to fight it. I imagine the man in this story would do it all over again. Heroes are so much quieter than villains.
