"Bankrate Senior Financial Analyst Greg McBride told Bloomberg the refinancing was a sound move by Zuckerberg, saying that the rates available to individuals with high net worth (Zuckerberg’s $15.7 billion certainly qualifies) are lower if those individuals are willing to bear the risk of monthly interest rate adjustments, and adding that after the Federal Reserve declared that it would keep interest rates near zero for at least two years, large spikes are unlikely in the near term. He told Bloomberg:
"WHEN YOU CAN BORROW AT A RATE BELOW INFLATION, YOU'RE BORROWING FOR FREE. THIS IS THE CONCEPT OF USING OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY, AND IT PRESERVES FINANCIAL FLEXIBILITY FOR THE BORROWER." (caps mine)

I still need my account for work, but once I realized how badly they (don't) enforce privacy, I spent 3 hours deleting every post, like, photo, and comment I could. Yes, I know that data is still on their servers and will remain so forever, but they're not getting another ePenny from me.
For the record, you can mark anything as visible to Friends Only, but there's nothing preventing your friends from sharing your data with anyone else (just like if you hand them a business card). If even one of your friends installs one malicious app, your so-called "private" data is anything but. I may be a whore, but I am not a commodity. |
