Words from those that love me

September 12, 2007
She's awesome and she gives good hugs. You better be coming to my party young miss.

Andrea is too cute for words! She is funny, much funnier than I think she realizes! She cracks me up.
I'm sad to see her leave us villagers, we've had so much fun together. I am excited for her and her sister to take on the nobles!

Andrea is like a fun loving cousin to me. She far surpasses any expectations of her, and does it with a smile.

What to say about my head Beaver Bitch gal? I love her smile, her gumption, & her willingness to go all out for any gag or bit. As I get older one of the great joys in life is seeing young girls that I know grow up into outstanding strong young women. I've only known Andrea for 2 years, but to see her mature has been a pleasure. I have every confidence that she will inspire others in due time, and the next generation of independent women will be born.

Every time I see Andrea, she's smiling. And then, when I see her smile, I smile too, because her good humor is infectious. She's patient, kind, relentlessly positive and cheerful and the sort of girl who is secretly keeping things running smoothly for whole big groups of people with her good humor and wonderful personality, but makes it look so effortless and natural that people might not notice all that she does for the people around her as often as they should.

Plus, of course, the loveliness that goes along with the smile. In going through the photos from this year, I was struck by how luminous she really is. Just beautiful in this glowing sort of way that suggests a painting, rather than a photo. Heart you, Andrea.

about me
I'm a volunteer actress at the Washington Renaissance Fantasy Faire. I love to read, write, bake, and sew. I'm a British history major, and yet (amazingly!) not a total nerd. I'm also the oldest of six kids, so I guess that makes me responsible and trustworthy, or so they say...;)

The many ramblings of me

As some of you know, I'm the editor-in-chief for my college's (Tacoma Community College) newspaper, the Challenge. A demanding job on the easiest of days, my job is made harder lately from a rather unlikely source; The constant bitchiness of the college's faculty.

You'd think that as the position of a faculty at a community college, you would try your damnedest to be supportive and positive of the students, no matter what position they might hold. Even when that position is as public and ... read more

Because Amy, Scott and various other people filled this out, I feel I must also. ;)
And because I'm home alone, not tired enough to go to bed, and not disciplined enough to try to work. :D Filling this out amused me, so hopefully it'll amuse you all just a wee bit also!

Enjoy!

So, following the illustrious example of my sister, I also decided to thank everyone who helped make this year's faire totally awesome for me! I had so much fun, but it wouldn't have been nearly as fun without my awesome friends and fellow mischief makers!

Disclaimer: I'm sorry if some of these are similar to Melissa's. She and I discussed this at some length, and since many of our experiences were similar, it makes since that our thanks would be also.

Thank you to...

I was reading old blogs of Amy and Chelsea's when I found this quiz thingy. Since I found it entertaining, I decided to fill it out myself. This might prove to be amusing, since I'm still highly exhausted from this past weekend...hopefully you all will find it enjoyable! :)

Obviously we all just finished the first weekend of Faire, and I'm sure that all my Faire mates are just as exhausted and sore as I am. But it was worth it! (at least for me) I'm still amazed that I managed to pack so much into eight hours of faire. Wench fights, jump roping, heckling Darnley (love ya John!), adoring Queenie (not that it's hard), teaching Schole games, and flirting with pirates, bounty hunters, nobles and patrons, are just a few activities that Melissa and I managed to fit in... read more
