minor mumblings

This morning I got a phone call at about 7 am from Dani. She told me to look out my window. . . Strangely I was expecting to see her outside in the parking lot of my appartment complex holding a boombox over her head. Instead, I saw this. I just wish it would have snowed at Christmas. It reminds me of growing up in Canada.

I've been a bit down these last few weeks. It's typical that things in life get really complicated right before faire. I can feel the path of my life getting restless and I know that not too far out there, the road will begin to writhe and twist. For some reason, I forgot to share this with the folks of Tribeworld. It's been in my photo album, but since I need an ego stroke, I'll share the story.

This year at Tahoe (Valhalla) I was up at Crier camp trying to refill my basket of flowers... read more

I'll be coming from the greater Sacramento Area because I have to work in SF for the next week. They, the aforementioned work, will be putting me up in a hotel in the city. Message me if you'd like to get together.

My Mumblings (pulled from livejournal)

strange days. I applied for a job in our sales department a few weeks ago. I've had an interview with a recruiter, and the manager, and today with the team I might work with. Wish me luck.

I just spent a good part of the night re-formatting my hard drive. My computer has been a bit slow in days of late. Damn thing crashed tonight and for the first time in the five years. . . yes five years, I broke open the installation disks and reinstalled my software.

How much fun can someone have with a single day off in the middle of the week? What is with only getting Wednesday off? Give us a real holiday! I petition that if a NATIONALLY RECOGNISED holiday falls on a Wednesday, you should get either MONDAY AND TUESDAY or THURSDAY and FRIDAY included. Are you with me?!?

July 1st - Canada

July 4th - USA

July 14th - France

All are independance days this month, although they may be called something different. Since I am a Canadian living in the USA, I need to represent both, and since I did two countries. . . I need to point out the french (eventhough there is great animosity between France and US and a great divide between the anglophone (english speaking) and francophone (french speaking) communities in Canada.) since I'm equal opportunity like that.

So, as I said, pick one. Celebrate hard, but celebrate smart.

So I was at the pharmacy picking up my many pills, and the girl behind the counter turns to me and says, "Hey, aren't you one of those bell ringers?" I stopped dead in my tracks and in a nanosecond, I had thoughts of the Salvation Army flash in my mind and before I could say no, I realized that she must have been at Fair Oaks this weekend. I looked at her and I said, "Really this weekend was my first weekend as a Crier, I'm usually a flowerseller." I was about to give my usual,"it's good to be the flowerboy!" cry when she laughed before I could deliver and she said, "I'm sorry, I was about to say something but I realized I wasn't at faire and it is really inappropriate."

Well we chatted for a while and I realized that even in the real world I can still run into Rennies. I never figured that people would recognize me out of garb unless they knew me beforehand, and I know that sometimes not even then. It really is a small world.
