Gospel of Mary discussion group

I discovered Gnosticism a few months ago. I watched several specials on Science channel and History channel. I found all of the early christian mysticism fascinating. I feel most drawn to the Gospel of Mary and Sophian Gnosticism as it reinserts women into Christianity. It substantiates what Christians felt internally the entire time, if Jesus was so peaceful and inclusive, why does the church insert such restriction and violence? Perhaps it is the selffulfilling profecy of those of us who have been raised in a relgion we felt bound to but often disagreed with thus rejected. The hidden gospels say "see, others shared your truth, even thousands of years ago, you do not have to leave the church, you do not have to find peace elsewhere, truth is still here, but now complete." The balance of Mary, most beloved, and Jesus is truth. Negative to positive, woman to man, not dominance and dismissal but love and inclusive partnership. She, who in the face of fear, did not run from his side as the other apostles. She who first witnessed. She, who has been silenced too long. Now speak your truths, let me be a vessel from which your words may spread

interesting topic
Because we just met, I`ll keep this as positive as possible. Let`s look at Jesus from a realistic perspective. Did he exist? Of course Jesus did. That should be obvious. Now comes the part that might be offensive to some; What about this Christ? Does the bible mention anything about the thirty something ascendants having the last names of Christ? Shouldn`t his mom and dad be named Joseph and Mary Christ? No. Why? Cause at that time the population was so sparse that last names didn`t seem necessary that`s why. Therefore the children were named with SIMILAR names as their fathers. Like Jacob, then came Joseph, then...Jesus! Jacob, Joseph, Jesus see? See the similarities? And another biblical parable was the birth of Jesus. Do you honestly believe that Mary "just so happened" to become impregnated? And her husband Joseph was ok with that? LOL! And the whole "virgin" concept. I noticed how they "conveniently forgot" to mention the fact that EVERY childless woman back in them days was considered a "virgin". So yes Mary WAS a virgin before she had Jesus. But then Joseph did his deed and what do you know, virgin no more!
I hope this doesn`t offend anyone, but I`ve been carrying this around in my head for a few years now, ever since I ws "reborn" you could say literally. I was severely injured and suffered major brain damage, which I`ve learned "restored" my brain like a computer, and deleted all the "junk mail" in my head. Junk mail like Christ. I think it`s time all Christians stood together and said that we won`t be led by any false messiah any longer! JESUS was our savior! CHRIST is the false messiah! It`s time for his reign to end!
And one of "Satans" folloers, or the AntiChrist of today has his own website at www.tedjesuschristgod.org.
Take a look and see what you think. I love all you people, and I only want to help.

my response to your response
there are so many critical flaws in your argument against Christianity that it took all the strength in me to not delete your comment... in the same way YOU have felt compelled to introduce me to your insights,I urge you to do the same and explore gnosticism before you judge it. those who shine from light, are of light, those who are not in light are in darkness. it's not for everybody... but, gnosticism says that what you believe... if you give it the same words I use or not, does not matter... we love the same creator... in love, in life... in transcendence. I will continue to live and grow in my faith... I hope you will one day experience truth but if not... I hope you will find spiritual peace so and not feel it necessary to attack other people's views. Which I believe to be a sign of weakness. I share my faith because I love it, it is my truth and it brings me joy... long and short... I don't need or want your "help"
