about me
Single hiv+ GWM, employed, practices forgiveness, celebrates all feelings, releases negativity and am patient with myself.
I love gardening and enjoy the cycle of the seasons. I enjoy writing, have no desire to write the great American novel, just short, humorous pieces for friends, family and co-workers.
I have a quirky kind of humor and enjoy miscellaneous quips such as "I took the road less traveled. Now where the hell am I?" "At least the war on the environment is going well" "Stop repeat offenders. Don't re-elect them".
I'm an avid reader. Up to 2002 about half or more of the books I read were science fiction or fantasy, but since then I have enjoyed mystery.
Some of my favorite movies are Idiocracy, The Fifth Element, Fearless, Scary Movie (only the first one), although I often become wrapped up with action/adventure and sometimes drama.
I'm not necessarily looking for someone who gives the same answers. If you see something that catches your attention, let's start by emailing and see where it goes.

My Blog

For me spirituality is as individual as a fingerprint. There are as many spiritualities as there are people. Sometimes people share some common beliefs which is great because they can share in communal worship. They can also share with each other, but this is where I tread more carefully.
Such words as “universal”, “peace”, “God”, “sacred”, “love”, “beauty” actually mean very different things to different people. I think more differently than I realize. I have to constantly keep remindin... read more

Started meditating.
It truly sucks, but I haven’t died yet.
I pull my cushions out, I set my alarm for 5 minutes, then I “assume the position.” Then I pick up the “instructions” from “Sit Down and Shut Up”. I re-read only the 2 paragraphs concerning the physical posture.
I read “There is one spot where your spine will balance perfectly on top of your hip bones without any effort on your part.“
I roll my shoulders (up and back) to sit up straight. I feel weight on my knees that doesn’t... read more

The accompanying photo is the area I'll be talking about in this blog. However this photo is from 2008, becasue I haven't taken any photos of the garden yet in 2009.
Six days ago I put a pedestal and a flower pot full of pink flowers out in the parkway. Some people have told me the word "parkway" is a term mostly used only in Chicago. It means the area between the sidewalk and the street. The photos of my garden is from that area, because it's the largest space I have to work in.
The area... read more

The Body Erotic week-end was very powerful in ways I would never have predicted.
During the week-end there is an emphasis on conscious breathing which is sometimes part of the meditative process.
There was a type of meditation which I’ve never been exposed to and much different than any meditation I’ve ever experienced. It was at the end of a powerful and joyful "dance" that was incredibly exuberant and put me in the state of mind of the uninhibited joyful play of a child.
And very short... read more

I was away in the southwest desert last week and I went to a mineral bath. I’ve never been in a naturaql mineral bath. I was quite impressed.
it seemed the minerals (or electrolytes) made me more buoyant. It was very relaxing to completely relax and remain floating. without supporting myself in any way, feeling weightless.
in the quintessent ritual (on march 21st) there was deep breathing, rapid deep breathing were i felt my extremities go numb. i repeated this as i lay in this tub ... read more
