about me
I have my BA in Anthropology and Environmental Studies from New College of Florida, the Florida public honors college. In order to graduate from NC with your BA you have to write a masters level thesis. Mine was an examination of Ottoman, British Colonial and early Zionist environmental policy as it pertains to water and land usage. I am currently selling my soul to the man in order to pay off student loans (although I like my job and my boss in reality, my hippie principles make me hate myself for liking it). I have also started up my own business that offers internet sales consulting and intellectual property licensing and development. Just taking some time off before grad school. I'm still not sure what I want to be when I 'grow up'. I would like to eventually purchase a very large tract of land somewhere out west and build a self-sustaining earthship. I love to travel. I love to read. I do not believe in supernatural or mythological beings, or extra-material realities. I also don't believe our limited primate senses and limited primate brains can ever hope to understand 'Truth', the best we can do is build models using the available evidence, and update our models when we must. While I would never infringe on the right of individuals to hold (what seem to be to me) preposterous ideas, I have little tolerance for dealing with the cosmic zombie jewish carpenter fan club (especially of the fundamentalist "the world is only as old as my mythology says it is and I want to teach this bullshit as science" variety). Specialization is for insects. I think I've finally settled Grad School plans. I want to get either my Masters of Landscape Architecture or a MA in Urban Planing. With either one I plan to focus on ecologically sustainable design. If anyone out there works in this field I would love to talk shop.
