I should be freaking out

Really. I should. In 12 days my feet will touch the dust for the first time. I'll finally be there, I'll finally be home. My costumes are all over the place (including the mail), I still don't know how the hell I'm getting my tent out there, and I have mountains of stuff to do before I can go. Instead of freaking out, I have this incredible serenity about me. It will be okay. It will be okay. It will be okay. I may not have a tent, but I'll have my Gothic Anubis costume. I may not know where I'm getting a bike, but I've got the EL wire thing covered. I wake up every morning with an amazing focus. It will be okay. It will be okay. It will be okay.

So I've been back for a couple of days now and I'm finally caught up on my sleep. The music was good, the candy was great, and as always the people and art were the best of all. I'm not quite sure how to explain to anyone what a temporary autonomous zone does to my soul. It's a taste of freedom in a world of control. I am crispy as hell from doing inversions and inswings with fire poi, and couldn't be happier about it. This weekend I learned that it is possible to rig propane cannons to fire electrically, which opens all sorts of possibilities I had never considered. Also, did you know you can blow bubbles with propane and then light the bubbles with lighters and they burn just beautifully? But light them from the bottom people. Seriously.
