Artist being sued by copycat

This hits me hard since I'm an artist and I have a lot of close friends who are artists and had their work copied. I'm just helping get the news out. I'm planning on donating but I'm too broke to buy anything.

One of my DVD's disappeared over the week and the tv that I use for my dancing is still in a disconnected mess. XP And my 19-year old tiel may need a trip to the vet.

And of course there's at least more than 350 bucks worth of DVDs I want. Not to mention somethings I still need for Kumoricon.

Don't you hate it when this happens?
This scenario is mostly hypothetical:

At a belly dance show, there are these two troupes: the award winning, widely popular and worshiped Troupe A and the not so well known Troupe B. Troupe A comes on first and they're horrible: the costumes look like gym clothes with electrical tape on them, they're dancing looks like mediocre cheer leading with the same moves used over and over again, and there is no communication between themselves and the audience.
