about me
Get up in the morning, slaving for bread, sir,
so that every mouth can be fed.
Poor me, the Israelite. Aah.

Get up in the morning, slaving for bread, sir,
So that every mouth can be fed.
Poor me, the Israelite. Aah.

My wife and my kids, they are packed up and leave me.
Darling, she said, I was yours to be seen.
Poor me, the Israelite. Aah.

Shirt them a-tear up, trousers are gone.
I don't want to end up like Bonnie and Clyde.
Poor me, the Israelite. Aah.

After a storm there must be a calm.
They catch me in the farm. You sound the alarm.
Poor me, the Israelite. Aah.

Poor me, the Israelite.
I wonder who I'm working for.
Poor me, Israelite,
I look a-down and out, sir.

Tomorrow, as many already know, is the 4th anniversary of the United States’ invasion of Iraq in 2003. The Chicago M20 Coalition has been making preparations for a massive mobilization to cut funding for the war and bring the troops home since January 6th, as they have done every year.

The march and rally has had a strong presence in the city every year since the war began. An overwhelming amount of Chicago loopers (downtown business people) have been known to take place in direct acti... read more

My whole life has been plagued with an inability to prepare for the future. The quacks my parents took me to as a child called it ADD. My last girlfriend called it “extended adolescence”. A friend recently compared me to an octopus that thinks it’s a cat – it can land on it’s feet no matter what, sure, but once it takes that leap and realizes the atmosphere is a tad heavy on oxygen, well…

This April I will have lived in Chicago for two years. In the time I’ve been here I’ve learned som... read more
