Karim tastefully tangles Egyptian, Lebanese and Gulf rhythms with Breakbeat, HipHop & Bhangra. He will perform on the Egyptian Tabla (doumbek), Riqq, Sagat zills/finger cymbals, frame drums and electronics, plus he will perform Saidi Tahteeb cane dance, and Dabka stomping dance.

Sunday, Dec 9th 10-12pm: Hip Work and Layering Workshop Sponsored by the Egyptian Academy www.egyptianacademy.com
Salsa International 701 7th Ave (at 47th St.), 5th Floor NY, NY 10036 (Times Square), $50/ door, space permitting

Hip Work and Layering with Hannah Nour~

Add power and control to your drum solos! This workshop emphasizes proper alignment, placement and body mechanics to create crisp, strong hip articulations. We will drill twists, locks, drops, squares, omis and shimmies to develop the muscles in the lower abs and pelvic area, while adding to our existing repertoire of drum solo combinations. Drills across the floor and around the room increase flexibility and range of motion in the hip while maintaining strong posture and arms to prepare for performance. Traveling patterns help to build control and stamina for layering 2, 3, or 4 different components of fundamental moves. This workshop is geared towards the Intermediate and Advanced level dancer.
