If you love the things little kids say,...........
Tue, February 22, 2011 - 1:25 PMWe're setting up for the Fairie Festival in Phoenix, and I needed to paint my stages. As I'm putting them together, this cute little lady wanders across the faire site to see what's up with the giant rocking horses. She's climbing all over the stages as I put them together, and when I am ready to paint, Kat tells her she needs to climb off so I can paint. Being the smart ass that I am, (if you know me, you understand), I make the comment that maybe we could just dump the paint onto the stage, and roll her around in it to paint the stage. Being the cute little girl that she is, she agrees. So I said that it might ruin her clothes, she says, "It's ok, my mom brought more."
Yes, too cute. But I told her that maybe she should go ask her mom first, so Mom could tell her no, instead of me having to do it. Off she runs, top speed. From across the site, we hear Mom laughing. Little Paintbrush runs back, says Mom said it was ok. Uh-huh. Sure she did. But by then, the painting was mostly done. Hah, slipped out of that one, didn't I?
After the event is over, and we're just about packed up to leave, we see Paintbrush running top speed in a straight line from her parent's booth towards ours, with a bag of Kettle Corn in hand. She doesn't say a word, just runs to Kat, hands her a single piece of Kettle Corn, walks over to me, gives me a piece, then runs back home. We GOT to go back to this event again this year. It was small, so we didn't make any real money, but the memories will last a lifetime.

'Paintbrush' is absolutely adorable! She must have thought you and Qamar were pretty special to share kettle corn with. And somewhere...she is telling the story of the really big horse and the two nice people who own him.

Actually, BOTH of our giant rocking horses, all she wanted, all weekend. She's a special little girl, and is obviously blessed with some very good parents. We'll post some more pictures of her after this year's event, where she'll be SIX!

Tony, that's what makes me do all the work it takes to be able to get out there and play with my horses. It's the people, and the good feeling deep inside that keeps bringing me back. Not only the children's smiles, but the smiles of adults that we take back to their childhood.
