Re: What do you think about bread making machines??
(in Backyard Garden Survivalists)
Well, if you don't have an outdoor cob oven, making your bread in the summer in your bread machine uses a LOT less power than heating up the oven.
We won't get around to making an outdoor oven until at least fall, so my bread machine is comin... read more discussion post on Fri, June 5, 2009 - 8:50 PM

Along that line, you can take plastic grocery bags, cut them into strips, and crochet them into reusable bags. Or outdoor mats.

Not anymore. Check your registration. They are now assessing a penalty of $8 if you do not renew before whatever date is listed on the registration paper. Nice, huh? Greedy bastards.
I gave up dancing for nearly a year...the price of fuel vs. what I was getting paid vs. what I was paying out in weekly lessons, private lessons, and such just didn't seem like they added up anymore. That and I saw the economic meltdown coming early on, and decided that working as much overtime while it was available so I could pay down debts and fix our house was more important. For me that meant not only not dancing, but not seeing any of the people I have come to care about. Not because...

My son Kris, the one who swore he would never have kids (in fact, once told me he didn’t need a wife because he had a dog), just called me to tell me I’m going to be a grandmother, probably mid September. The mom is Katie, the girl he’s been with on and off since he was 15 (he’s 23 now) — they’ve been together pretty much for the last 5 years, but each of them has had an ‘indiscretion’ and they broke up a couple of times over those. The basic friendship they have ... read more

I've actually had it for several months, it's why I'm not really posting here anymore although I do keep up with the tribes I'm in..just not quite as often. Now all of those who thought I *might* be a little crazy will know for sure I am! It's unfortunate that I have to be pissed in order to post there lately. I'm not really that negative all the time. So I will be introducing my new knitting and spinning assistant via blog post ; )
Well, actually not hiding, I've been in plain sight, just not here. Too busy! Canning, drying, taking care of chickens, building stuff, cleaning, and working as much overtime as I can get. DH did a VERY stupid thing and it's costing us about $6000. And counting. I considered divorce but well, he's cute when he makes the effort...so here I stay.
