about me
Very complicated without showing a CV. Suffice it to say that I shipwrecked at the end of a seven year voyage documenting a project called Invisible Sailors Invisible Ships, specifically focussing on the sailing turtle hunters of the Cayman Islands. The shipwreck was inside the reef at Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. I met my lady there and we moved to the Turks and Caicos Islands to write a book on the Caicos Sloop. While here we helped start the T&C Maritime Heritage Federation and have promoted the racing and construction of the traditional sloops. There were five sloops when we arrived and there are sixteen now. There was one race when we arrived and there are now eight races. We have youth sail training programmes and are research oriented.
That's about it for me. It gives a glimpse into what I do. I did the same in San Francisco with the Bay Area Marine Institute and in Cayman with the Cayman Catboat Club and the Cayman Maritime Heritage Foundation.
