Re: Been off Tribe for awhile...found this today: (in Friends of Kaihea Healing and Support) Mm. I've still got one of those in my car and one in my wallet (the one that says "Visualize Kaihea happy healthy and cancer-free on her wedding day").

Here's my bizarre excuse for still carrying this around...mind you this is coming from a ... read more

Manko Eponymous Live at BK Music ( events » live music ) I'll be playing a free acoustic set from 6-7ish at the legendary BK Music, 7106 Midlothian Tpk in Richmond, right where Midlothian hits Rt. 150 (and both are forever changed by the encounter). Gremlins At Work (blog entry) Okay, so for complicated reasons all the Kaihealoha cd's got lost for a month or so, but finally they're in my possession. The liner notes didn't quite print right, but aside from that they look pretty gorgeous. Plus the music is my best so far.... read more

Of interest to steampunk musicians & wannabes? (blog entry) www.grand-illusions.com/acatal...et.html

My Blog

...and then it occurred to me that the pressure to conform to arbitrary norms within, say, the Burner community, while unfortunately reminiscent of high school bullshit, could be better appreciated as a natural expression of any authentic tribalism. Part of me's been grumbling for years that no, this or that "tribe" isn't really a tribe because a tribe is something you're generally born into, something you'd have a hard time leaving, something that defines your worldview much more powerfully... read more

Check it out - it's a dirt cheap little music box that comes with a kit so you can program your own music onto the rolls, kinda like a cross between a standard 19th-century music box and a player piano. I'm salivating at the thought of teaching a musicbox to perform Gary Numan classics, maybe some Yaz...and at this price, it's a whole lot cheaper than, say, a digital modeled vst plug-in musicbox would be (not that such a thing exi... read more

Wow, I just heard "www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php

Then I watched "www.imdb.com/title/tt1002695/".

(Oh, and Stacy, I don't know much about "www.imdb.com/title/tt1010043/" but maybe you should?)

Of course the TED stuff is, amusingly enough, dated; I mean that's all SO 2006.  And now of course we can all watch the TED presentations online.  I wonder why we don't...I wonder why I don't...I suppose I should.  Maybe this year I will.

I supp... read more

My pal, guru and heroine Cera is the only bellydancer in the finals at the Voice of Dance contest. If you know her work, you know she's fucking phenomenal and kinda on fire these days but sure could use the money.

Check it out, spread the word and give her a boost!

My Testimonials

April 6, 2008
The words THANK YOU don't seem to cover what I want to express here. You provided amazing superhuman support for our mutual friend, the warrior goddess Kaihea, and created a place where we can all send and show love and support for her. And at the first indication of my health faltering, parcels began arriving at my doorstep full of amazing books for me to devour...books I've not only heard of and had interest in, but one in particular that has been on me "top 5 to buy" list: Brezny's!!! Hugs and hugs and hugs to you! You've made my state of recovery oh so less boring! Gracias mi amigo y besos y abrazas e tu! ~fe

I love you.

Really.

For so many reasons.

The first being obvious: because you truly love our mutual friend.
Thank you Thank you Thank you, for being in her life.
I will hunt you down and kill you if you hurt her. I promise.

Secondly, ahem, *grin*
You have a bee-you-ta-full brain! (and heart)

Rocket man, rock it man!
