From the lethal sting of exotic insects to the humble asphyxia produced by household cleaners, the topic of accidental poisoning will be lovingly addressed in tonight's evening-long one-night cavalcade of bickering puppets, indecently attired nurses, scratchy classroom films, absurd props, soiled costumes, and pedagogical burlesque otherwise known as The Art of Bleeding.
As well as presenting invaluable information on poisoning emergencies, ABRAM THE SAFETY APE grapples with core issues of his professional identity, RT the ROBOT TEACHER tries his hand at playwriting, and DR. MOODY explores the psychic marshlands of True Safety Consciousness.
Augmenting tonight's lessons will be carefully choreographed poisoning scenarios by legendary comedian and accomplished belly dance diva MARGARET CHO shimmying her way through toxicological exotica, exotic dancer JEWEL OF DENIAL presenting a working girl's tale of glamour, popcorn, and poison, and second-generation burlesque artist PENNY STARR, JR peeling down to her leg cast (from an injury she swears was related to alcohol poisoning!). And then there's "The Nine and a Half Talented Fingers of DR. CROSSCUT accompanying P.A.M., the Plastic Action Mother, as she responds to an infant poisoning emergency. There will also be a few short films by The Art of Bleeding and (we hope) a recording area at which you can share your own medical emergency stories (poisoning or otherwise) as part of our newly launched GORY DETAILS PROJECT. And of course you'll receive appropriate medical treatment from the usual CLUB SCREWBALL personnel including Host DON BOLLES, Hostessa MISS DARCEY LEONARD, and DJs JIMI HEY, IAN MARSHALL.
