The band is comprised of Sean and Matt Blanck who both have been immersed in mid eastern music and belly dancers for the last 20+ years. Sean is lead drummer of the band, Matt switched from percussion to keyboard and has been voraciously learning this melody instrument. Also joining the band are Mary who plays oboe, Turkish zurna and also backs up lead drummer with riq and other percussion instruments. Mary was a dancer with Isis and switched to musical instruments because of her background and also that the drummers seemed to have all the fun. Mike has just recently joined playing his Turkish doumbek. Mike a student of Jamal Mohammed has been performing many years for many dancers at both Scarborough Faire before Isis and Star dancers were regulars. Also he played for Tambra and the Mecca caravan where he met Sean and his mother Tatika.
