letter to myselfTue, January 1, 2008 - 10:12 PM
You do not see your own beauty, you want others to see it for you. You feel a need for others to experience you, and yet you do not truly experience youself. How can you grow when you do not truly know who you are? You must believe in the power of your higher self to be in control. You cannot escape the past only learn from it. Your family pushes you to deal with what is perhaps the hardest for you so believe in the power of these relationships. Know that you are trustworthy and know that the reason that you fight is because you are complex not dark. Experience yourself and learn from your relationships with others. Remember how beautiful your experience was here in this part of your life. You path of dharma lies ahead. Question what it is that keeps you from being deserving and having all your dreams in reality. perhaps higher knowledge should now be found through discipline.
P.S. This is a letter I wrote to myself a month or so into living in the yoga community and read it two months later.

Brother, a few Pieces of advice as you discover who you are,
You needs do Nothing to announce that you have walked into a room for simply by doing so you already have.
Respect those around you as you wish them to respect you, this includes that which is theirs…
Not everyone will like you, there is Not much you can do about this save smile and let them feel as they will, It may be them and Not you that has the Problem
Remember your wings must grow stronger each day, so don’t feel bad if your fail to soar right away…
It is OK to Not win everything, life is a Journey not a Competition.
You will forever be your own worst critic, so try to lighten up from time to time.
