From Bishop Timothy Price:
Thank You For Being A Friend ( Andrew Gold ) Thank you for being a friend Traveled down a road and back again Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidant I'm not ashamed to say I hope it always will stay this way My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow And if you threw a party Invited everyone you knew You would see the biggest gift would be from me And the card attached would say Thank you for being a friend Thank you for being a friend Thank you for being a friend Thank you for being a friend If it's a car you lack I'd surely buy you a Cadillac Whatever you need any time of the day or night I'm not ashamed to say I hope it always will stay this way My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow And when we both get older With walking canes and hair of gray Have no fear even though it's hard to hear I will stand real close and say Thank you for being a friend Thank you for being a friend Thank you for being a friend Thank you for being a friend And when we die And float away Into the night The milky way You'll hear me call As we ascend I'll say your name Then once again Thank you for being a friend

Jimi is a divine catalyst, a deeply compassionate bird, a brilliant political analyst and an entertaining voice of reason. He should be on the nightime talk shows, but I think he's too busy saving the world, bless him.
October 29, 2006
Jimi is a rare bird.
He is sagacious, delightfully droll, and passionate about his convictions. He also has a good photographic eye for composition. When Jimi squawks it is prudent to listen. Besides he is such great fun to tribe with.

I have been watching ths whole healthcare reform debacle on my mainstream media box, and I think that I am finally begining to understand this whole "teabagger" debate. You see, back in 1945 the Nazis realized that they were losing the war and decided that they must save Hitler's brain.

The Observer, Sunday 26 July 2009 Graphic images that reveal the devastating impact of global warming in the Arctic have been released by the US military. The photographs, taken by spy satellites over the past decade, confirm that in recent years vast areas in high latitudes have lost their ice cover in summer months. The pictures, kept secret by Washington during the presidency of George W Bush, were declassified by the White House last week... read more

The headline of the linked article is “House Passes Milestone Energy, Climate Change Bill.” www.foxnews.com/politics/2...ate-change/ Obviously not happy with the AP headline, the Fox Nation writers, in order to put it in right wing terms the pitchfork gang can understand and appreciate, tweaked it thusly: “Treason? FOUR years it took her to figure it out. FOUR YEARS! It took Janine Sugawara four years of daily eating a box of Cap'n Crunch Crunchberries before she finally discovered that Crunchberries are not an actual berry and not even a fruit. Janine was ticked off at The Cap'n so she sued him for fraud in Federal Court and said that most reasonable people would also think that a Crunchberry is a real berry. A judge dismissed the case last week, but the decision is being appea... read more
That beautiful human being and noted sexist, G. APRIL 30, 2009 -- There are probably better ways to avoid jury duty than the approach recently taken by a Montana man. After Erik Slye, 36, received a jury notice earlier this year, he filed a notarized affidavit seeking to be excused from serving on a District Court panel in Gallatin County. Slye's caustic affidavit, which he prepared with help from his wife Jennifer, can be found above. The document did not sit well with court officials and led a judge to threaten to jail Slye. But after be...

Taibblog April 14, 2009 It took a good long while for news of the Teabag movement to penetrate the periphery of my consciousness — I kept hearing things about it and dismissing them, sure that the whole business was some kind of joke. Like a Daily Show invention, say. It pains me to say this as an American, but we are the only people on earth dumb enough to use a nationwide campaign of “teabag parties” as a form of mass protest, in the middle of a real economic crisis. ... read more

Decades of overfishing, pollution, aggressive invasive species and severe habitat loss are threatening our oceans, yet we have no comprehensive national law to address these problems. Tell your representative to support a bill that would protect and restore our oceans and the economies that rely on them.
The coal industry is pushing Congress for huge subsidies and mandates for liquid coal production, even though it is inefficient, expensive and produces large amounts of global warming pollution. Urge your senators and representative to oppose any legislation that promotes liquid coal fuels.

After spending a few minutes with Eric Ryan and Adam Lowry, founders of the Method line of home-care products, it's clear that the two business partners are as different as -- well, bleach and ammonia. But unlike those notoriously toxic cleaners, Lowry and Ryan combine their strengths into a successful solution: a sustainable company that's raking in fans and accolades. Sarah van Schagen chats with the minds behind Method about their new book, their peskiest problems, and the dirty little secrets of the cleaning biz.

As winter loses its grip on her New England surroundings, Roz is already on the lookout for early-spring flowers. To help draw them out, Roz made a not-quite-spring mushroom pasta dish -- she calls it pasta pre-primavera -- that's to die for.
