I love Cory Canon. He is so much more than “Cody’s brother.” He is a smart, funny, fascinating individual. He is so much more than an exceptionally talented fire professional. He is generous, helpful, kind, and a good sport. He is so much more than a third generation “Desert Rat.” He is a person with far horizons. He is constant and contradictory. He is humble and confidant. He is maturity and youth. He is reassuring and thought provoking.

I went to Burning Man this year hoping to meet the “Canon Sisters” Rif called out in his infamous post. When I met Cory he took my teasing in stride. My opinion of him grew every time I saw him. His company was always a pleasure.

The Pacific Ocean is calm because it’s so deep. Cory is like that. I’d gladly travel a thousand miles to spend ten minutes with him.

This guy, let me tall you a little bout dis here guy man. Now, he will hook you up phat with the fire spinning type tools and all that right. But it ain't gonna be him doing all the work. Know what I'm saying? He'll instruct you, in detail, on what it takes. You do everything you can (including using your own brain to figure out some of the stuff on your own, acquiring the supplies that will be needed, ETC.), then make an appointment with the MAN and he'll be happy to help with those parts of the design that you cannot figure out.

Cory helped me to construct a sweet battle ready fire sword. In doing so, he has significantly changed my life, sparing me from a meaningless existence devoid of truly interactive fiery goodness.
