You returned the Moon to my sky.
For many years I was blinded by
City streetlights, reflecting an
Old blanket, orange and fuzzy,
Pulled out of the hall closet.
Several times you popped into
View, surprising me like a fresh
Meringue pie, dropped on the
Family table during the rare visit
Of a distant, but beloved aunt.
You brought my gaze from the
Glare of onrushing traffic in the
Asphalt gardens to your waltz
On the blue marbled floor, your
Gown cascading across the coast.
Your light in the night is mother’s
Eye, gently coaxing me to sleep,
Dearest friend, who reflects the
Pure light of life, whispering tender
Bedtime stories in the crispy breeze.
