Meet Mr. Bob!

Yup I'm a sucker for dogs alright!

This weekend we went to the Humane Society of Sonoma ....just to LOOK! We saw many cute doggies, kitties and puppies too.
The puppies were way too cute and I was so tempted.......BUT they were not available yet. We saw this big black lab ( I am partial to labs of course) and Gothalot said "Let's go see him!" I firmly said NO, and I headed for the exit.I felt. I wasn't ready yet. Dakota just passed a few weeks ago. Gothalot asked me if I would mind if he went in to look at him. I told him go ahead. The guy told him to go outside and wait in the socialization area. I decided to go with him.
The staff member came out with the big, black lab. He was beautiful and he seemed to be walking with great control. The guy came into the gated area, told us a few things , then he let the dog go. He ran right to me, slobbering licks and kisses all over me. He bounced around, wagging his tail, marking every inch of that area. We sat there watching, and enjoying his antics, getting the lowdown from the staff member.
Mr. Bob was found wandering around in Sebastapol about a month ago, and nobody claimed him. Because he's fully grown, there hadn't been any interest. He said he is 5yrs old, but his amazingly white teeth, and spastic lab behavior tells me he's 3! He has a problem with "marking" because he wasn't neutered until a week ago.

I was still not sure,so we told the guy we would come back with Simcha tomorrow, to see how they get along. We got home and we sat in the car in the driveway, talking about it. Gothalot understood my hesitations and he reassured me that it's ok. He wanted to get Simcha and bring him to meet "Bob" So we went back with Simcha, and they got along GREAT! But I wasSTILL unsure.

We went back on Sun and we came home with him! Yeah I'm a sucker!

But look into his beautiful, brown eyes and you will see how happy and grateful he is now.

I am totally amazed at how well trained he is. I told Gothalot that there has to be something wrong with him, for someone to abandon a sweety like Bob! I wonder if there might be some secret code word, that when spoken, he launches into attack mode! Seriously he is beautiful, well trained, and SMART as all get out. He learned his new name Bob, by the end of his first day home.

I am so happy for you!!! Oh he's such a beautiful, lucky dawg Mr. Bob!!!! I'm a sucker for labs too, always have been. In fact this last few years are the first in my life I have been dogless, lack of yard and not being home more than five minutes at a time prohibits it. When you mentioned how well trained he is and wondering where he came from, my first 'hit' was 'fell out of the back of a truck'.
