about me
My goals include attending Salem State for a bachelors in elementary education/art, completing a year long massage therapy certification program, participating in a herbalism apprenticeship, and continuing on the hoop path journey!! It is my belief that we should always follow what comes natural to the inner consciousness. Truely, I am an individual who is in love with the world and who seeks experiences that stray far from the beaten path. It is said that redheads have fire to them, so naturally, the act of lighting a circular object on fire and spinning it around every inch of my being fits that desired mold (even if I am a watery Pisces) ;D

It's been a semi-stressful couple of weeks, but it's finally happening - I'm moving to Baltimore on Halloween day! Should be there in time for an awesome party with many costume goers, DJ spining for hours, hoops (because I'll be bringing mine.. heh heh) and lots of food/drink to consume. Already I may of found the perfect job for me to work; a full time position in a children's shoe store. I was thrilled to see the listing, not only because I will be starting my bachelors in elementary e...

Yesterday, I finally made the decision to brave the fierce, frigid waters of a terrible economy and quit my monotonous office job of three years. It's been the only place I've known since graudating in 2006, an environment that, as I've come to realize, doesn't fit in with who I really am - at all. Most people who work here are perfectly content with doing the same repetitive work, day after day, for a reasonably good paycheck (although I do believe the government knows what they're doing w...

Re: Making fabric covered hoops
(in Hula Hooping)
I was going to do an experiment with making a fabric covered hoop using hot glue... went to a festival recently and someone had a bunch of hoops for sale, most of which were covered in various kinds of fabric. They wrapped them like they would wi...

Re: sf hoopers -where can i get tubing?
(in Hula Hooping)
The 160 psi is much heavier. To anyone first starting out, I would recommend the heavier tubing available at Lowes (more weight = easier time keeping the hoop up and around your body). Although keep in mind (since this happened to me) that as yo...

Re: Hoopers outside of Boston
(in Boston Hoop Troop)
YES!! I agree that we should. So far, I haven't really seen or heard of anyone into the hooping scene locally... figured there would be a greater number the closer you get to Boston. Hm.. depending on how close you are, Portsmouth has a fairly l...

Re: Anyone know what type of tubing Hoopnotica hoops are made of?
(in Hula Hooping)
You know, I've always wondered the same thing. When I first found out about hooping, I *almost* bought one of their hoops, but decided to make my own instead... :D
