They're there for obvious reasons and for not-so obvious reasons (until the time comes when you realize how important family is).

I suppose this phase is the one where I see the value of my earliest family again. It would be good if things only got better from here.

It's been raining on and off for days now. I love the sound of the rain.

My earliest memory of rain is from the time that I was two or three years old. I lived in the house in which I was born, which was also the house in which my mother and her siblings were born. It was a one room house until my grandfather built adobe walls and a tin roof over the cooking area outside. The ground all around the house was sandy and white. Our home was close to the ocean.

I am having a marvelous time enjoying spring unfold in this beautiful corner of the world.

The weather is warming up. The grass is turning emerald green, and so are the aspens and tamaracks. Fish are spawning by the stream under the bridge. The bears are out again. My friend and I sighted some animal tracks - grey wolf, moose, and wild horse. We also spied some pelicans socializing in a pond hidden from view from the "highway" the other day.
