Psychic Train Platform

First, a book appeared on my doorstep: "Water for Elephants", a story that takes place in a circus. It was really good. I can't remember who told me about this book lately, someone mentioned it & they must have left it for me, but I have no idea who.

Then, as I was working at my computer this morning, a crash and scurrying noise inside my office closet. I opened the door and there was a grey PIDGEON poking around on top of my papers. How it got inside my house AND inside my closet I will n... read more

Today my beautiful friend Tammy and I got in my car and took the backroads into the Texas countryside for awhile, following the old highway that used to connect Dallas and Austin. We stopped at this old building (pictured) which houses the coolest vintage clothing store ever run by two retired jazz musicians. I tried on a white leather jacket and pant suit with gold studs going down the arms and down the pant legs with the label "Caesar's Palace - Las Vegas" on the inside. It fit like a dream... read more

The fabulous Ms. Dee-Light, a lovely and charming person, who has clever wit and wisdom.

Everytime I see her dance I'm so impressed with her beauty and skill. I personally have always loved her combination of tribal and cabaret costuming, it makes her so unique!

And she is someone who can appreciate my penchant for creative costuming and Thrift Shops! LOL

Miss D you are the best!

Dee rocks the hookah lounge! Everyone must make their way out to the Deep Ellum Velvet Hookah to see the lovely Dee in her gorgeous costume as she dances beautifully! (She has kick ass hand lamps, too!)

I've known Dee for about eight years now, and what's always puzzled me is this:

At Flipside and Burning Man, while the rest of us muddle through with dusty old tents with broken zippers, Dee effortlessly produces clean, ironed living quarters complete with oriental rugs, comfortable furnishings, colorful wall hangings, and tasteful objets d'art. While the rest of us sweat through the afternoon looking like rejects from a Mad Max casting call, Dee looks like she just stepped off the crisp color-corrected air-conditioned pages of Vogue (the Freaky Edition).

And on top of that she's just published a book. Brains, grace, and beauty. Obviously she's a goddess of some kind; a benevolent one, I suspect.

But that's not the part that puzzles me. What puzzles me is that she genuinely doesn't seem to know she's a goddess. Nope, she's just sweet, kind, warm, witty, wonderful Dee.

Don't tell her, OK? That would spoil everything.

Dee is the only person i know that's clever enough to have invented "Leech Necklaces" and wear them well. You look awesome in your Halloween photos, Dee! Makes me think of that Fleetwood Mac song, "Bleed to Love her."
