I am an assistant professor at Emporia State University in Emporia, KS beginning in the fall of 2007. An old friend of mine recently told me that she thought that I had an intolerant attitude towards stupidity. Understand that ignorance and stupidty are different things. I can't stand people who are selfish, lack manners, are helpless and are without common sense. Also, because a person does a selfish THING doesn't make them a selfish PERSON. I am talking about these qualities as an on going state of mind. I also don't like being introduced to large groups of people who intentionally talk about inside shit with which I can't identify. That's called lame and rude. I'd never do that to anyone. Lately, learning more and more about design has been of interest to me...next is web design. I earned my MFA from the University of Florida in 2005...here's a website of my death obsessed art: www.jamesehlers.org Learning in general is cool...even the most trivial shit is interesting. Meeting or hanging with other artists isn't always a good time. Time is an inescapable marvel. Each day I wake up assessing the mistakes I made the day before. Ending the day feeling productive is the best feeling.
