about me
HAPPY THINGS:
Avebury, cycling along the seafront in the wind and rain (especially when the wind’s behind me!), talking round a campfire, my cat purring fit to burst at the unexpected thrill of being reunited with my lap (approx every half hour), festivals like Sunrise Celebration, having a hot shower when you come in wet, cold and muddy (like you do…), snorkelling, flowers, a tent in a field in winter, comparing notes on life with people who (for whatever reason) don’t have many teeth left… You guessed it, I’m a hippy… the flower in my hair is pretty much nailed there.
SAD THINGS:
* People who say, or enjoy thinking, “I don’t suffer fools gladly”
* Heavy drinking – or any drug such as alcohol that dulls your connection with what’s around you (this is not to say I never drink)
* Soulless luxury hotels, cruise boats etc
* Reluctance to accept/explore new and unexpected information
* Extravagantly big/fast vehicles, and people who speed round built-up areas - THEY COULD RUN OVER A PUSSYCAT!!!!!
* Obsessive, incessant repackaging of self and surroundings, and all the undermining propaganda that makes people want to do it...
...you get the picture... :0) (do you like my design for a D&G T-shirt, in the slideshow?)
FAVOURITE QUOTES AT THE MOMENT:
* "We can’t get enough of what we don’t need to make us happy" – Anon (enlighten me if you know!)...
* "The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may be another profound truth." – Niels Bohr (Nobel Prize, Physics)...
* "The chief difficulty for most people was to realise that they had really heard NEW things; that is, things they had never heard before. They kept translating what they heard into their habitual language. They had ceased to hope and believe that there might be anything new." - Peter Uspensky
* "Mairzi totes and dozy totes and little lamzi tivey, and a kiddley tivey too, wouldn't you?" - Mum and dad singing in their kitchen
