PRESS RELEASE CELEBRATION OF SPIRIT

<div>

PRESS RELEASE CELEBRATION OF SPIRIT

Houston, TX – for immediate release

A first-ever gathering of American Indian Nations featuring a trans-global conference of tribal leaders to be held at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, on August 20-23 has been announced by the Native American Chamber of Commerce in Houston. Some 3,000 Indians from the U.S and Canada are expected to celebrate this event in dance, song, sports, food and golf.

The four-day event will feature prominent leaders and native celebrities from many of the 565 Indian Nations recognized by the federal government, as well as many from Canada and the Americas.

Major U.S. firms practicing social responsibility and supporting diversity, such as Lockheed Martin, Wal-Mart, IBM, Marathon Oil, UPS and BNSF are among the dozens of U.S. Corporations signed up to sponsor the event. All proceeds less expenses will go to education and native achievement centers.

In what may also be a first for the Native American, the inaugural day of the event will feature presidential candidates invited to speak about their positions regarding native sovereignty and rights at a formal dinner for tribal leaders and prime sponsors.

"Given the many challenges facing the American Indian and Alaskan Native today – unemployment, poverty, education, housing, contaminated lands – it will be important for our next president to clearly speak to an agenda which will address these needs," said Carroll Cocchia, Chamber President.

In the following days, the Indian pageant will feature a special day for native business people and entrepreneurs to do what Indians have done from time immemorial – trade. A third day will feature native skateboarding. A final day showcases a huge selection of Native dancers, drummers, story tellers, artists, craftsmen and native foods to celebrate the depth and breadth of the Indian culture.

Inquiries can be addressed by email to Carroll Cocchia: cocchia1@sbcglobal.net.

Effort and Responsibility

<div>Effort and Responsibility

I believe effort and responsibility go hand in hand..

Have you noticed those who take responsibility are the ones you like to be around and have a better mood and attitude than those who don't take responsibility? Those who make an effort and take responsibility never blame someone else for their failures and don't belly ache and grumble when things don't go their way.. Responsible people make an effort to make things right and they are the ones who are successful..

Sometimes certain situations or events in our life can make us become more negative and our mood and attitude becomes undesirable..When we get that kind of outlook and we let the negative elements around us start affecting our lives it is time to for us to change our attitude..
Sometimes different situations makes our attitude and mood less than pleasant and we need to make a conscious effort to make adjustments in our attitude and mood , it is all part of being a human being..

As I get older I find myself needing to make an effort to make adjustments in my mood and attitude because it is a well known fact the older we get the more opinionated we become and we must take into consideration other peoples opinion and beliefs..

Attitude and altitude have something else in common other than sounding alike..They both require adjustments from time to time so we can stay on course..

Growing Pains Difficult Times

<div>Growing Pains Difficult Times

It can be very challenging to maintain a positive attitude
and a measure of faith when you are in the midst of
difficult times. This is partly because we tend to think
that if the universe loves us we will experience that love
in the form of positive circumstances. However, we are like
children, and the universe is our wise mother who knows what
our souls need to thrive better than we do. Just as a young
child does not benefit from getting everything she wants,
we also benefit from times of constriction and difficulty
to help us grow and learn. If we keep this in mind, and
continue to trust that we are loved even when things are
hard, it helps us bear the difficult time with grace.

This period of time in history is full of difficulty for a
lot of human beings, and you may feel less alone knowing
you are not being singled out. There are extreme energy
changes pulsing through the universe at every level and,
of course, we are all part of the growing process and the
growing pains. It helps if we remember that life is one
phase after another and that this difficult time will
inevitably give way to something new and different. When we
feel overwhelmed we can comfort ourselves with the wise
saying: This too shall pass.

At the same time, if you truly feel that nothing is going
right for you, it’s never a bad idea to examine your life
and see if there are some changes you can make to alleviate
some of the difficulty. Gently and compassionately exploring
the areas giving you the most trouble may reveal things you
are holding onto and need to release: unprocessed emotions,
unresolved transitions, or negative ways of looking at
yourself or reality. As you take responsibility for the
things you can change, you can more easily surrender to the
things you can’t, remembering all the while that this phase
will, without doubt, give way to another.

Walking The Red Road

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/1b51a4fd-bb53-4cc3-a213-3f7b3f57b543/blog/110539f9-d467-4372-aaf2-80f5c8a0e0a7"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/2e9/1c1/2e91c1e4-669c-44d1-aa5f-691de35a69ee.thumb" width="65" height="65" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>Walking The Red Road
Creator has a plan for each of us. We must strive to walk the Redroad, to fulfil our lives paths. We must learn to listen to what our heart's speak to us. We must pray and let the smoke take our prayers to Creator. Not just sometimes when we have a need, but daily. In the morning when the day is new and in the evening before we rest. We must thank Creator for our food and all he has given us. It is He who loves us and He who made us.

We must do our part to care for Mother Earth as she is sick and in need. She provides us with all we need to survive. The food we eat, the air we breathe. We must do all we can to make sure she can continue to provide, for the sake of the children.

We must love one another. Love means caring, compassion, and sacrafice. To do all we can do to help each other. Whatever the need is, food, clothing, a warm place to sleep, council, prayers or a hug, we do all we can for our brothers and sisters of this world. Real love is all the time, not just when we want to, or when we have time.

We must teach the children to walk the Red Road, to care for Mother Earth. We must teach them their heritage, their culture. The children are the future, and if we fail to teach them, their heritage is lost to them, and we as Native Americans will cease to exist as a people.

We must teach them to walk tall, to be proud of who and what they are. We must teach them to fight the injustices of all the Native Americans as a whole. To band together as one people, one tribe, and to put aside their differences, and focus on the rights of our people as one people. To stand together as one. To be one strong Nation. To agree to disagree for the good of our people as a whole. To fight for the protection of Mother Earth, and all creations on her.

We should never judge another person as we have not lived their lives, nor do we know what their hearts speak to them. When others do us wrong, we need to pray for them, not show anger, and vengence. Show love and teach by example.

We must never disrespect the beliefs of another as we all have to listen to what our heart's speak to us. We have no right to change their beliefs and should respect them as we wouldn't want another to do this to us and our beliefs. Always respect others beliefs, ideas, and demand they respect yours. Always treat others as you want to be treated. Strive to be the best person you can be, and grow Spiritually everyday.

Always know the words you speak can have a profound effect on another person, and chose those words so as not to inflict hurt on anothers heart, as words can never truely be taken back, you can appologize, and be forgiven, but the scars left by those words are forever in the heart of those we hurt. Always remember this before you speak and ask yourself if your words will inflict hurt before you say them.

Try not to waste time with worrying as it won't change things. Use your energy on more positive things. These are just my thoughts...

Strong Heart Woman
