about me
I'm Stefanie. I'm a student in Denver, majoring in English Writing, and use any spare time to write. I'm into body modifications of all kinds, and currently am adorned with 2 lovely tattoos and 4 piercings.
I work as a dog trainer for PetSmart in Littleton. It's the closest I've ever been to my dream job!
I dance. A lot. Belly dance mainly (tribal more than anything else), but also hip hop, and occasionally African and breakdancing, but I hope to take up swing or ballroom as well.
I repair broken antique instruments. My car isn't so old anymore. I live drug-free. I want to move out of the country. I live for music. I make some kick-ass spaghetti sauce, brownies, homemade dog cookies, and chip dip. Walking my dogs is one of my favorite things to do. And apparently I have a soft spot for animals with jowls.

Today, the Bush administration announced that all federal protection of the Gray Wolf is to be revoked. This will allow hunters in the states of Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana to all but completely obliterate the wolf population. With only 1500 wolves in these areas, there is not enough to sustain their population. The new federal laws will allow killings of all wolves but 300. Even in Yellowstone National Park (where for over a decade, people fought for the reintroduction of the wolf into the p...

So here is my story of the last 24 hours.
Monday is my usual day off. Once school starts I'll have a class on Mondays then belly dance, so I don't work. Well, the other dog trainer at the 1st and Wadsworth PetSmart was sick yesterday. So I was called in to cover one of her puppy classes.
Around 3:45 I get to work, punch in, teach the puppy class. Then I was gonna race home, feed my dogs, then get ready and go to belly dance. I walk out the front doors at 5:00, and my car is gone. I actu...

So I wrote a short story for my Fiction class called Dancing for Moab, and although it does need some editing first, I was wondering if anybody would be interested in reading it? If so, I'll probably post it either here on my blog, or in the Bellydance Writers and Artists tribe.
I'm close to getting a new job as a dog trainer! Hopefully I'll get "the call" tomorrow. Things are starting to fall into place for me, which is nice, for once. Though I've been on this sort of emotional hi-n-low ...

Ok, so it's been awhile...
My life so far (in order of appearance as well as I can recall):
Brandon and I broke up. Things weren't going anywhere, things that needed to be changed weren't changing, I was more like his mother than his girlfriend, and he refused to make any changes to remedy our relationship. He's moved away (literally). And I'm happier :)
Tribal Fest!! Eight days in Sebastopol, Cali for, pretty much, the biggest tribal belly dance festival anywhere. I spent all my avail...

So, I just got my taxes done, and while I only owe $250 to the IRS (and that's not bad considering I had to pay up $1300 last year... yikes), I am also vainly attempting to save up for massive spending at Tribal Fest in May. And my boyfriend is moving out at the end of this week, so that puts a bit more of a financial strain on me as well, but the benefits outweigh the struggles, trust me...
Yesterday I was totally coveting some beautiful Melodia stuff --- M32 Espresso Sash pants, M33 Grey...

She teaches at the Mercury Cafe. I think she also still performs at Mataam Fez on Colfax.
Hope that helps!

Stef is just plain awesome. I met her in my very first bellydance class and I've never seen her be anything but sweet and kind to everyone she meets. I don't think I've ever heard her say anything negative about anyone, she just has a great soul. Not only is she just a beautiful person, she's also an amazing bellydancer and always willing to dance with anyone!
