Carnivale Noir

Carnivale Noir is taking shape, one I hadn't intended, but feel pretty optimistic about. The event (October 18th) will be like a party, DJs spinning techno/electronic/trance/industrial/goth/etc., and dancers. I'm currently booking acts and though it's pretty bellydanceriffic, I've got a few acts that may bring something else to the table. This is really difficult, not knowing many darkling dancers in the area. I've got a small budget, and I have to fill the venue in order to break even. I've got two DJs booked so far, but I think I'll need at least 2 more... Lots to do.

On a sad note, no more regular hookah lounge gig. It's a long story, but involves an honest mistake made by this other girl that dances there. It seems trivial to us, but the owner always told me that in his cuture there is a hard line drawn between work and family, and when the two get muddled, that's very very bad. The funny thing is that it all comes down to a wrong cell phone number. So I'm not mad at anybody, I'm sad that I no longer have a regular gig, but it may come back when things calm down. It had been going really really well. So I'm a little more upset than indifferent, but there's nothing that can be done, so I'm just... ::sigh::

Bella Morte & Seven Cycle Theory - July 27th

Bella Morte is making their way back to Nashville for a show on July 27th, and my favorite local band SCT, will be opening for them. And I'll let you in on a little secret, SCT is letting me up onstage again for a song. It's SCT's official album release party, so come join in the fun. :-)
