I love to create beautiful things, especially using recycled or found materials. In my free time, I can be found melting down and reinventing old records, making jewelry from vintage materials, creating custom pieces with chiyogami (old paper), snapping photos, painting, singing... Are you seeing a pattern here? The drive to create is strong. In addition to my alchemy, my husband and I have a business called smARTbags (website under construction), which is a campaign to combat single-use bag addiction in commerce, while also promoting works by artists in our community. We believe in making the world a better place, and that creativity is an essential piece of that process.

Our dog sitters, that we've had lined up for FOREVER have fallen through because their car was stolen this morning!!! Is there anyone out there in Columbia who can help? Our doggie is a sweetie. It takes her a minute to warm up to strangers, but then she'll cuddle with you like crazy, if you let her. We need someone to either come by and feed her and let her out, or we need someone to stay at our place with her, or we can take her to someone's place, whatever is most convenient.

We found a place to live! It's a place we should be able to afford, in a great neighborhood, on an adorable street and it has many lovely amenities such as a big, fenced-in yard, a large deck off the dining room, a kickass workshop in the basement, a finished attic which will make a great chill space/creative area, washer and dryer, etc. We're so excited! Tim lost his job yesterday and we also got a notice from our landladies (who I have bitched about in previous blogs) that they want us out by absolutely no later than may 31st so they can remodel. FUCK. Anyone need landscaping done or know anyone who does? Anyone know of a place for rent that is close to campus in Columbia and $450/mo or less?

A week after Jason died, two weeks after Grammy died, Poppy fell and broke his hip. They discovered he has cancer, and it's really bad and he has maybe 2 months to live, tops.
