My "Best Of's" Picks

* Nicest Super Pros
Ansuya, Fathiem, Jim Boz - These amazing dancers are not only spectacular to watch, but they are personable, kind, and funny as well. They are not "divas" with an attitude. Lovely, lovely people - thank you for being so nice to us fans.

* Best Workshop Instructors
1) Jim Boz - extremely organized, teaches in small, learnable "chunks", funny, easy to follow, explains everything, oh...and did I say funny!!

2) Angelika Nemeth - also extremely organized, teaches in small "chunks", etc, AND gives you a handout!!

* Best Overall Teacher
1) Aisha Ahroosh - extremely detail oriented. So, she points out every little thing you're doing wrong (but, not in a mean or cruel way). She is the first instructor I've had that explained what muscles I was supposed to be using, and how to use it properly. Awesome and graceful lady.

* Favorite Singers (male & female)
1) Ragheb Alama 1) Warda
2) Amr Diab 2) Samira Said
3) Hamada 3) Nancy Ajram

* Favorite Dancers to watch
1) Rachel George 2) Ansuya (Wow!)
3) Fathiem 4) Jim Boz (fun)
5) Shabnam 6) Rachel Brice

* Favorite Troupes to watch
1) Unmata 2) Aeysha's Oasis

Hey All,

This past weekend was the fabulous Belly Dancer USA contest. Here are all of us "Goddesses" from Sunday's category. We are (from L to R): me, Devi, Shania, Figi, Deborah, and Zelina. What an amazing day! I was suffering from food poisoning, and had been "losing my cookies" since 10:00 pm Saturday night. After some amazing Reiki work from Giselle, Naomi, Patricia, and Dana, I went ahead and performed - both in Goddess and in Troupe. And guess what? I won 1st place in Goddes... read more

I attended the memorial service today for an amazing young man named Colin. His life was tragically taken last Monday in a car accident. Whenever someone we know dies, it often makes us think about our own mortality and how unexpectedly things can change. It also makes me appreciate the loved ones in my life, and reminds me to cherish each moment with them. At the service, his teachers, coaches and friends got up and spoke about this high school senior, and his outlook on life. In their ... read more

I was told that my veil piece at "Lilles" this past weekend was really good - that I really sent out emotion during that section. Yeah! I'm improving. Here's a pic' of me "emoting".

What a great event that Casseopia (sp?) puts on! Man, you gotta go next year. She did an awesome job. The dancers were fabulous to watch, and I got to go away with a trophy!! I got 2nd place in the "Mature Dancer" category. I may be the right age for this category, but I am certainly not mature!! Here's a photo of the 3 of us who placed in Mature Dancer. Congrats to us all!
