When I lived a simple life as a Taoist Monk searching for the meaning of life and not finding it…I left Wudang mountain and found it in a Nike commercial “just do it” so I’m living it on the edge…….imagine climbing a rock and any moment you could lose your grip and fall off a cliff or ripping across the water on your windsurfer and going so fast you can barely keep it under control.... one mistake can wipe you out …tossing you into the water and knocking you out….but I don’t because I know how to harness the power of the wind and water.... this is how I spend my time when I’m not drumming..... being at one with nature....

Issam Houshan Workshop (blog entry) Just came back from Issam's Advanced Drum Workshop in Norfolk, VA and it was awesome......I've been studying and trying to learn his techniques for the last 3 yrs. playing his DVDs repeatedly... listening to his riffs and picking his brain everyt... read more

Best time at Folktours Camp
I decided to go to camp just to hang out and have something to do Memorial Day weekend......but OMG, I had a blast, saw old friends, made new friends, partied all night slept till 11am.

It's so amazing to see campers, both Dancers and Musicians I've known from 4 - 5 yrs ago progress to the high level performers they are today.

I've been going to this camp for 4 yrs and have taken Karim's drumming classes every year, Souren's Riq and Tayar's Davul classes....so I didn't think I would ... read more

Issam Houshan Workshop
Just came back from Issam's Advanced Drum Workshop in Norfolk, VA and it was awesome......I've been studying and trying to learn his techniques for the last 3 yrs. playing his DVDs repeatedly... listening to his riffs and picking his brain everytime he's in town when touring with the Superstars and for the most part, have figured out how he does it except for a couple of things.
