8 things about me

Ok, here I go spreading the virus. Whoopie.

About me.

1. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and lived there until I went to college in Houston, where I live now.

2. For five years I was a competitive swimmer with the AAU. I quit right before my junior year in high school to concentrate on academics and getting a scholarship to college, which I did. I attended the University of St. Thomas here in Houston, where I got my BA in Secondary Education and eventually became a high school English teacher.

3. I retired from teaching this summer, so now I spend time exercising, walking, and swimming more than I've ever been able to do for the last fifteen years, due to physical problems and chronic pain. It's amazing what retirement has done for me!

4. I like art and literature, and I love to express my thoughts in writing... which is a good reason to be here at Oulipo, eh.

5. I have seven brothers and sisters, all younger than me. My mom is dead, but my dad is alive, well, and remarried.

6. I enjoy watching movies and tv shows. I'm unable to watch much live tv right now because my cable service has been cut off, so I'm mostly watching dvd's right now.

7. I was raised Catholic, but when I was around twenty I started moving in different directions spiritually and philosophically.

8. What else? Let's see... one more. Oh yeah. Sometimes I like to travel. I spent a week in Bellingham, Washington visiting my brother and sister and their families. My favorite part was driving to Vancouver, Canada and visiting the UBC museum of anthropology, which was actually a fantastic collection of native architecture and artifacts.
