I would like to remind everyone this holiday season the importance of buying fair trade chocolate. Most chocolate consumed in America is produced by child labor in extreme conditions with and estimated 10% of the children enslaved.

According
According to my former professor Dr. Ed Cohen, who does humanitarian work such as filming documentaries in South East Asia; there are more slaves today then in any other time in history. Most slaves are women and they are forced to do sex work. It's happening here in the US too, but we are oblivious to this horrific crime, because our media is controlled by money not by morality. What I keep asking my self is: Isn’t it too late when the consumer has to make the choice? The consumer may have to live by limited funds. Why do big corporations buy products that have been produced by the hands of children or in factories where the conditions are just unbearable and bring it to us? Why subcontracting? The sad reality is that I know the reason. This is all happening so the beneficiaries of this inhumanity can go skiing with their families in a beautiful resort this holiday season and spend thousands and thousands of dollars in Christmas gifts. As well as maintain the wealth, power and privilege in the top 5% which is now decreasing too.
