It was excellent!!! A beautiful, crisp, and sunny day with nonstop drumming! When I arrived at 11:30, it was kind of empty, but gradually filled to a very comfortable crowd with marvelous energy. My fullest intent was to drum, but how could I keep...

What a treat to perform African Dance with Zebra Kids in Baltimore last Saturday!!! I arrived with what I thought was plenty of time until the schedule slot to perform...except when I talked to a staffer, I found out we were to perform NEXT (as in , I had ten minutes to put my garb on!!!---I have NEVER felt so nervous!!!! I had to think back to performing in high school plays, and even then, I had more time to get changed!!!) But, all was well.

Well, this year was nothing at all like the Pirate cruise last yeaar! While last year was a fun-filled affair lasting all night long.and an extravagant (and expensive) celebration in the city, this year's evening at Sizzling Bombay promised to be a night of glorious food and dancing to world music ALL night....yet, the promise was only delivered on the food--it was extraordinary (carrot pudding and sesame shrimp amongst a multitude of other choices, not necessarily in that order, but YUM!!)...

My fullest intent was to drum, but how could I keep from dancing? It was so easy for me to kick back into my marathon dancing a la Pennsic (with zills, yeah!!!)
The African drumming ensemble and Raquy concert was stellar and the subsequent drum circle /clean-up smoothed out the night into a relax...
