We have really been busy this summer. It is just too easy to get out and enjoy Mother Nature here in the Appalachian. Tons of stuff to do. You can go on the same hike everyday and have something totally new happen every time. We just got back from camping, my kids didn't want to come back! They actually loved being in the tents and just in nature. I miss it too! Our tent has open mesh at the top that allows you to see the stars, or in our case stars through the trees! It rained on us one night, which so so cool. There is nothing like going to sleep with the sound of rain on top of your tent (of course with the rain guard on it!) We did plenty of hiking and lots of sight seeing. When we pulled up there was a momma deer and her baby grazing in our camping site--of course we let them be before we got out. We came up on some wild turkeys, seen my trusty hawks and crows. Got to swim the the famous Dan River! Man, I want to go back!! It really puts things in perspective. We are planning to go back soon, just not soon enough!
