Tribal Bellydance: Candle Dance Workshop - Idaho Falls (events » arts) Saturday, December 8, 2007 - 1:00 PM 90 RSVPs Learn an enchanting, mysterious candle-balance dance! This workshop provides a strong introduction to standard balancing techniques and creative ideas for the use of specialty-balanced props. We will begin with a warm-up aimed at strengthening the body for floor work; basic balance points; and then work on an adaptable choreography broken down into combos using a candle. Also included are safety tips, ideas for working in duos, trios, and groups, some historical background on balancing dances, a meditative cooldown, and concluding with a costumed choreography review by the instructor. Choreography includes transitions, turns, spins and floor work.

Candle Workshop includes:
*a workable choreography with notes and tips
*balancing techniques
*an LED flickering candle and holder for practice and use!!

DECEMBER 8th

*with a special tribal jewelry and bead showing by Pandora's Ethnic Baubles and Beads!

FYI: February Tribal Tea Party POSTPONED! (events » arts) Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 1:30 PM 86 RSVPs Wow, sorry about the short notice, gals! My last posting did a touchback through TRIBE and I just found out that not everyone was notified! I'm moving the Feb TT to March so that my gracious host, Em, will be able to attend. She is out of state to attend a special family event. Please forgive me if you didn't get the first postponement notification. I think that the TRIBE maintenance over the past week may have affected the send out. Our Tribal Tea is scheduled, tentatively, for the second weekend in March. Should be a blast, the choreography I've put together is a lot of fun and could even be used at the Tribes of March for anyone interested in performing. Em and I are excited to present our second Tribal Tea Party at Namaste Yoga in Idaho Falls! We're going to be learning a fun fusion dance choreography that will work with props and will build intepretive skills. I'll be infusing this workshop with tips for making combos fit your style and ideas on dancing with a partner or in a group. We'll also be talking about upcoming events for our area! Please bring questions or ideas for upcoming workshops and maybe a treat to share! Saturday, February 23rd: beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Namaste Yoga (Downtown in the Kingston Building, Corner of B Street and Shoup, Suite 106, Idaho Falls (208) 524-1641). Cost is $12, bring a friend!
